I lived in Northern Minnesota through my childhood, but moved away after graduating highschool and marrying my highschool sweetheart. We lived in Duluth, MN, raising our two sons, and then in 1974 he was offered a job in Fairbanks, Alaska and we up and moved lock, stock, and barrel. When we divorced in 1988 I moved back to International Falls, MN, I remarried in 1989, and then stayed there until 2006 when Roger retired, and I sold my Homecare agency. We had purchased a tract of land in Anchor Point, AK, in 2003, and decided to make this beautiful place our new home.
- More about me
-
I am a 58 year old wife, mother, grandmother and Registered Nurse. Adventure and laughter are the things that I most enjoy in my life. Luckily I have found a man who enjoys these same things and we have made it our goal to enjoy every moment of our lives to the fullest.
Keeping with this quest, in 2006 we decided to forego the daily grind, and he retired early from his job, I sold my homecare agency, and we moved north to beautiful Anchor Point, AK. We have just recently finished building our dream home, located on a bluff that overlooks Cook Inlet and we have a fabulous view of Iliamna volcano on the other side of the inlet. Living here has been a wonderful experience, and we have found a comfortable niche here in this small community. I now work part time in the hospital in Homer, AK, and find that I thoroughly enjoy working because I want to, and not because I have to anymore.
My life is very full with my many interests. Alaska is a perfect setting in which to enjoy my photography hobby, as well as fishing, beachcombing and exploring new locations. I also enjoy quilting, sewing, collecting buttons, cooking, and researching our family genealogy.
We share five children and three grandchildren and spend as much time as possible with all of them. Two, and soon three, of our children are in Alaska, and the others are in Washington and Colorado. We are blessed to have good relationships with all of them.
