All about art -- all the time. A soft-spoken Southern girl, well-read, passionate about all things artistic and literary; a nurturer of plants, folks and other creatures, and a willing slave to creativity. 

My interests are: fine art, literature, practically any and all forms of music, including the eclectic and obscure; subtle, slapstick and off-the-wall humor, sacred geometry, new age spirituality, pastoral living, poetry, films, philosophy, flea market shopping, quantum physics, antiques and artifacts, holistic health, astrology, many types of cuisine, herbs for healing and gastronomy, gardening, dancing, travel and exploration, social events, dinner parties with good friends, and forming and maintaining intimate friendships.

I like ferreting out interesting little hole-in-the-wall restaurants that serve great food, perusing dusty little bookshops and junk sellers' domains' meeting eccentric people, and bumping down an intriguing road seldom taken.

Activities

Paint is my favorite thing of all -- ask any artist. Family and close, comfortable friends are next, followed by long walks, solitude, bellylaughs, a loving relationship, and creating a warm and peaceful home. Everything else is subject to whim and circumstance.

You name it. My ipod is a fairly constant companion, and I'm a big spender on iTunes. Latest faves in the pop category are The Guggenheim Grotto, KT Tunstall, Madeleine Peyroux, Patti Griffin, and always Leonard Cohen and Annie Lennox.

Favorite TV Shows

The Sopranos -- the only television you'll catch me watching. Otherwise, I watch films on DVD.

Favorite Movies

I'm a sucker for black-and-white films from the thirties and forties, and the technicolor fifties. Foreign and indie films are top faves, too. I like fantasy and children's films, too. Don't do well with violent films.

Favorite Books

Always have several books going at once. Nowadays it's Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now, " "The Secret, " "State of Denial: Bush at War, Part III, " "The Writing Life" by Annie Dillard; and Gary Reynard's "The Disappearance of the Universe."

Favorite People

My diminutive and sprightly grandmother, a softspoken and earthy lady just under five feet tall, who raised twelve children during the depression -- ten of her own and two orphans whom she took in as family. I remember her home as always filled with bright laughter, warm camaraderie, and a big, round dinner table groaning beneath the weight of many serving bowls filled with sweet Southern cooking.

Favorite Places

San Francisco, Santa Fe, St. Francisville; Tuscany. All my favorite places seem to be named after or related to St. Francis, for some reason.

Favorite Animals

My rambling bathmat of a dog is my favorite roommate. Also love cats and birds, but have none at the moment.
