Favorite Charities

Spent a number of years with an art gallery that conducted art auctions as fund raising events and thus was exposed to a great many very worthwhile groups.

Favorite TV Shows

Have collected hundreds of movies; an activity which has reached a point where there are more that I haven't seen than that I have. On the negative side, do not watch any so-called "reality" tv. On a positive note, there are at least twol good SciFi nights out of the week (this being Friday, it is one of those now).

Favorite Movies

See above but still have the first VHS movie I bought way back in the day before there were rentals and just re-watched it recently: "A Man for all Seasons". My number one daughter has another of those "oldies" (the second movie purchased) a tape of a Snow White stage show (Broadway) that Disney pulled off the market years ago.

Favorite Books

At any given moment, will be part way into at least three or four books. At the moment that would include "The Art of the Personal Essay", Pinker's "The Language Instinct", Donaldson's "Forbidden Knowledge", Anthony's "Ghost". Hum, seems like things are slipping away. Next up: Harold Bloom's "Where Shall Wisdom be Found" (a quick scan through may leave this on the side for more than a while). Re-reading Clavell and Gibbon; recommend "Rashomon:and Other Stories" by Akutagawa and there are always more than a few SciFi books around. & there are almost 50 "sample" chapters awaiting review on my Kindle along with half a dozen or so paper books on the shelf. Oh well....

Judith (30), Kira(27), Jr.(23) and Mike(20) - my four kids. Forgetting someone....oh right, Eva - my most significant other.

Wouldn't mind going back to Ireland; lots of horses and writers don't pay income taxes (the last I heard).

Dogs, of course; and horses - but they're too hard to house break.
