Places I have lived are Dallas, Houston, and Manvel Texas, Mabelvale, Arkansas, Cary and Fayetteville, North Carolina....now Waldmohr, Germany. Places I have traveled to that I loved were Topsail Island and Asheville, North Carolina, Holland, London, Rome, Bavaria, Paris, Belgium...and passed thru Switzerland. :)

More about me

I live in Germany, still love America but am not in any hurry to leave here.   I  love animals, the outdoors, cooking, science, books of all types...I try very hard to show by example that under our skins we are all the same.  I have lived here for 3 years with my husband and our giant yellow labrador Harley, and have traveled to many fantastic places.  I am friendly, but I don't make close friends quickly.  I have a wild side, but I tend to keep it under control these days and to stick with that which is safe.  This is a peaceful way to live, but some may consider it to lack excitement.  I have a deep respect for the elderly, and have a good balance between wong and right and relativism.  Sometimes the Veil parts and gives me a glimpse of things others do not see, so at times I see the shadows...and at other times, the sun.

 

 

 

Activities

Gardening, reading, cooking inside, grilling outside, photography, my dog Harley, my mini cooper "S", the four distinct seasons, hiking....soon to be teaching myself the bowed psaltery!

Favorite Charities

Any thing pertaining to animals, but only if it is NOT presented in a way showing cruelty that will get stuck in my head and make me sad. Currently "Puppies Behind Bars" is one of our favorites.

Favorite Music

Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Sammy Hagar in all phases....also classical piano, just about anything except rap and really twangy country.

Favorite TV Shows

Used to like "Life in the ER" (NOT "ER"...totally different) the Learning Channel, History channel....ok and for the voyeueristic part of me that needs to be tantalized, all those court tv shows, ha! Currently we also watch American Idol, The Deadliest Catch, and Hell's Kitchen....now in Europe we don't have that much of a choice, so we have what we have.

Favorite Movies

I have trouble with these questions, because yes, I have movies I like, but I always would rather see a new one than a favorite old one. I like all kinds of movies, but don't care for the really gory and violent ones...my imagination can fill in the blanks much better than the in-your-face gore films sometimes contain.

Favorite Books

oooh, I have so many of these! I love Cormach McCarthy, Ken Follett, Dan Simmons, Stephen King, if it's available on Sony eReader, I'm interested...not too many printed books in English are available here, so downloading books for me is how I get around the lack of printed material.

What, like famous people? Famous people are just like the rest of us, so I don't really have any....well, maybe except Sammy Hagar. :)

Italy and France! The ruins of Pompei, the shores of the Mediterranean...and the castles of Germany.

dogs, horses, hedgehogs, rabbits, sheep, fish, birds, turtles, - just about everything except mice and rats and snakes.
