One of two brothers born to Italian parents from Rome, the father an  immigrant who immediately joined the American army to be sent to France during WWI, to be wounded and from his resulting American citizenship returned to Rome to marry my mother. I earned BA  and Masters Degrees in the study of History and Political Science.  Never became  a college professor in those fields, landed first as a Social Welfare worker in San Francisco's  Skid Row  and finally in marketing.  After 37 years as saleman and regional sales manager for a paper mill  I finally retired. After selling and selling I couldn't sit still so I took advantage of being in the neighborhood of "H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D" and spent 10  years as an Extra and bit player, having garnered membership in the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA. During this post retirement time I met many outstanding actors in movies and television.  I enjoy seeing re-runs of shows I  appeared in, one of the very best of which is Golden Girls  with Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty, Rue Clanahan and Betty White. 

Activities

Keeping track of my 5 daughters and their husbands and my 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Reading books---I love history and biography. Exercising on an exercycle---I can't walk around my surrounding hills---because I have COPD, a lung debilitation. And finally this new joy, the computer.

Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, NCIS, reruns of M.A.S.H., Lawrence Welk

Favorite Movies

Haven't been going for the past few years and don't care for all the violence and sex that seems to pervade so much of the new flicks---quite a bit also on TV. But for about 10 years after retirement I took part in movie making as a bit player. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of the big names on the sets.

Favorite Books

Too many to list. But the one I'm reading now for about the 3rd time is "George Washington"

Favorite Quotes

Don't test my memory at this moment as I sit at the computer, but many include words of the ancient Romans, American pioneers, FDR, Lincoln and one of my favorite high school teachers.

Rome where my parents come from and many other places in Europe. Most of the U.S. where I've traveled in work and vacations. Japan and Okinawa.
