I'm a single african-american male who currently resides in Fredericksburg, VA. I moved here from Oakland, CA in 2004 to take care of my 87 year old Mom. Anyone out there who has taken care of an elderly relative knows who stressful it can be, especially while working also.....but it's worth it....Knowing that you're helping someone extend their life and live it out as healthy and comfortable as possible.

I grew up in Philly and moved to CA in '73 because I got tired of the snow and cold weather. I love California and miss it a lot. Music, especially jazz and latin, is my passion and way to relax....going to live performances whenever my pockets allow me to...outdoor concerts and street festivals. All of my close friends are in California and I haven't had much time to make many friends since I've been in VA but would like to. I've been single all of my life...never married and no kids....although I have 4 godkids who I'm very close to and was involved somewhat in helping raise one of my godsons. When I tell people I've never been married I usually get some strange looks and if the person I tell is female, they sometimes run away screaming...lol...The first thing most people will say is...."uh oh, he's afraid of committment".....or they might say...."uh oh, he must be gay"....or they might say....uh oh, he's crazy".......I'm not afraid of committment.....and I'm not gay.....but I think the jury is still out on the other one. Politically I'm a crazy California liberal and proud of it. Religiously, I don't belong to any religion or church and have no plans to do so, even though I grew up in the baptist church....but I do consider myself a spiritual person.

I enjoy all types of cultural events and meeting people from all types of cultures and ethnic groups. I'm in good health, eat healthy and try to stay in good shape......I've also been house trained, so I know how to put down the lid when finished........
