I love being an artist! I've had a most interesting and wonderful life doing what I enjoy most of all: making, teaching and filling my life with art related activities.
I’ve been painting for over 40 years and the application of pigments to paper or canvas is still an amazing experience for me. I’ve been using watercolors and acrylics exclusively for the last two decades. I’ve always painted a wide variety of subjects in sizes from murals to minis.
With art there’s always something new to try. A couple of years ago I read about Art Trading Cards and ACEOs on the internet and decided to paint one to see what it would be like. From that first one, I was hooked. What fun! I just loved painting them and displaying them on my walls. Since then I have painted and sold dozens of them, but I haven't traded any.I've used lots of things to make art over the years. I went back to college when I was almost 40 and studied ways of making art that were new and different for me. Printmaking, sculpture, and metalsmithing were fun and interesting, but my main interest has always been painting. I love photography, but it's in addition to painting; never instead of.
I learned to love the serenity and quiet of a winter landscape from our years of snowmobiling in Michigan where I lived with my husband for many years. I am still inspired by the natural beauty, the rocks, streams, hills and trees I find in my home state of Arkansas. Over the years we've traveled over much of the country and in my opinion there aren't many places more beautiful than the Ozarks.
I share my life with my husband and two teenaged sons, who have been with us for a dozen years. They take up a bit of my time, but there is still plenty left for me to keep involved with the Conway League of Artists, (president) the Arkansas League of Artists (Board member) and Mid Southern Watercolorists. I try to paint or do some art related activity every day, even if it's only for a little while.

I love your watercolor landscapes. Especially the winter ones - I would much rather see winter on paper than in person.
