Divorced (lot of that going around) but not bitter, enjoying life, slightly insane (real lot of that going around); I have auburn hair (with the help of chemistry) and green eyes (all natural) which evidences my being of Fire & Ice.  Consider yourself warned.

 

I am Tsalagi (Cherokee) and proud, but don't flaunt it - I refuse to be anyone's token.  I am also French Canadian and English (apparently a descendent of the Mayflower but even if my brother gets the final proof, I don't care - no way - no how am I joining the DAR!) 

 

I can be a proper Bostonian if I have to be but I prefer to be outgoing with a WICKED sense of humor (told you I was from Bahston!).

 

I am proud to be politically incorrect with just enough irreverence to get away with it.

 

I am known for having an open mind, a gentle heart and for shooting from the hip (only problem being that I have tendency to aim for the balls!)  Get your mind out of the gutter, I mean that I speak my mind - good, bad or indifferent.  I am honest to a fault as I would rather hurt you with the truth than sleaze you with a lie (Gotta' love Meatloaf!)

 

Like every little girl, I grew up to be a woman but as my mother raised me well and with class, I am also a lady ~ and I appreciate a man who knows the difference.

 

I am a huge sports fan....okay, the term rabid has been used in the past.  So unfortunately, my gentle lady-like demeanor has been known to evaporate during a Bruins, Red Sox or Patriots game.  Okay rabid is probably the best word for it given as even my own ex-military brother won't attend a Bruins game with me.

 

I trained as a chef - so yes, my college degree literally allows me to say "Hey, do you want fries with that"?.   Sorry all you art-history majors.....I don't mean to offend, but I warned about the irreverrence thing, didn't I.   And like any good culinarian, I love to cook.  A LOT.  And no cute little dishes from me.....so all you treadmill-running, Pilates-doing folks should probably leave my profile....LOL.  I like good hearty, stick to your ribs, comfort food kinda meals.  I only get foofie with desserts....I know 1001 things to do with chocolate....you would not believe what you can do with chocolate....and it's good for you.....really, it comes from the cocoa bean, and we know that beans are legumes and the food pyramid instructs us to have 6-8 helpings from that food group every day.  As a pastry chef, I have learned to rationalize a Snickers bar as a balanced meal.

 

I try to act my age as best as I can - even though I am a bit of a cougar (be honest ladies, do you really feel that foreplay should contain the phrase "Honey, where are my blue pills?)  I have a drastic Peter Pan complex: I just don't want to grow up.  I want to learn how to roller-blade, I play Diablo on my PC, I love to sleep late and I never get out of the water at the beach.....Can someone explain to me the whole lying in the sun thing that most women do....I don't get it, really, someone explain it please?

 

I have to dress professionally everyday so when I am not on the job you will find me in jeans and cowboy boots.  I don't want to discuss your 401K (glad you are financially secure, but it's really none of my business), I am rational enough to know that human nature will never allow world peace (get over it, it's never gonna' happen) and as I am a Republican living in MA, let's not discuss politics, it will just make you crazy.

Favorite Animals

Nike & Puma: the sneaker kitties! Two cats that have been kind enough to allow me to take care of them. (Cat lovers will understand this!) and all other creatures, big and small!

Favorite Places

Plum Island, MA; White Mountains, NH; San Antonio, Texas; The rocky coastline of Maine, the beaches of Cape Cod, but only in the off-season and at dusk, Boston Garden during a Bruins game, Fenway Park, all the time, the Arnold Arboretum, Barnes & Noble, and in the arms of a man who knows how to tame fire & ice.

Favorite Books

The entire Harry Potter series, which evidences that I am a kid at heart, and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. As I am an avid reader this may change, frequently.

First, shame on you for presuming I actually like people! Only kiddin' - I've got several, but I like to think that I show them that they are my favorite people so no need to list them. Just give 'em a swelled head anyway!

Favorite Movies

800 Character spaces isn't enough to get me through 1939 - let alone all my favorites. Let's just say I love 1930's - 1950's, some of the 60's & 70's, a chunk of the 80's & 90's and so far so good for the new millenium. Love action/adventure, murder mystery and if friends insist, I will sit through a chick-flick. Best movie of late: just saw the new Bond....who'd have thought a blond bond could be so hot...oh, and the movie was good too!

Favorite TV Shows

The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist and usually whatever is on Masterpiece Theatre as long as it's a murder mystery

Favorite Music

Country primarily, contemporary & classic, especially Trace Adkins....damn ain't he a tall cold glass of water....just what a woman needs with a shot of Jack....(sorry, got a little distracted there), Rock, R&B, Spanish, Korean, Opera, Classical - basically a little of everything

Activities

Hiking, Biking, Camping, Kayaking, Photography, (presently trying to photograph all the waterfalls in MA & NH) Gardening, Pow-wows, Cooking/Baking, Reading, Music, Crafts (knit, crochet, quilt, you name it...God, that's depressing, 40+ and single...and I knit....now just put me in a rocking chair and my life is over!)

Rosie's Place (a woman's homeless/domestic violence shelter: I make winter accessories for sale and distribution), WWF; any other animal charity as well as military charities: tend to vary with cause/drive
