High School in Dearborn, MI and Charleston, WV Psych major in college in Michigan. Teacher's cert. Univ. of Alaska. Worked as Special Education Resource Teacher until retirement in 2007. Looking forward to semi-annual (I hope) trips to warm places.

I manage four groups on Eons--The Family Story Box, Valley's Coffee Shop, Seeking Joy..Within Ourselves, and Hiking.  Come visit us there!  I also have an Eons picture blog about my Alaska hikes and about vacation travel--a Mediterranean cruise and Hawaii, so far. 

I retired last year from a 20-year career as a special ed teacher.  My husband retired at the same time and we're enjoying our time together.  We have two grown kids.  My hometown is Grand Rapids, Michigan, but I've lived in Anchorage, Alaska, since 1973.  I'm a quiet extrovert, meaning I like to be with people, but I don't talk much.    I'm getting into volunteer work, but I also like making music--mostly playing piano--hiking weekly with friends on Alaska trails, drawing, traveling, and being with friends--online and in person.
