More about me

Who am I? That's a complicated question. I am a Christian, hunter, bicyclist, philosopher, conservative constitutionalist, avid reader, loner (by choice), guitar player, singer, husband and father.

I enjoy an occassional Southern Comfort or beer, but not that cheap crap. I prefer a brown, red or pale ale, wheat or honey brown lager, bock or lambic. Any of those are even better with a good cigar. All things in moderation, of course.

 I tend to be laid back, prefering to enjoy life rather than fight it. For example, when I ride my bicycle (a recumbent) my goal is not to get there fast but rather to experience the journey.

I am married to Sandy, the most wonderful woman in the world. The paunch that replaced my six pack abs is a tesiment to her cooking, especially her cookies and pies. She has stuck by me through the tough times and is still here in spite of all the goofy stuff I've put her through.

I have two great sons. Ben is 23 and studying to be a physical therapist. Zac is 20 and preparing to be a police officer. They each have their own talents and temperments. They are products of their parents, yet individuals in their own right. I am immensely proud of them both and know that they will grow to be good men.

I make my living as an insurance counselor/agent. My goal is to help people navigate the legalistic, nonsensical, often psychotic world of insurance. I'm pretty good at it and have built a small but loyal clientelle over the past sixteen years. I have earned the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor and pride myself in knowing my business and the products I sell and service. However, this is only what I do, not who I am.
