My heroes are not afraid to face life in the face of adversity. From my college friend who laughed his way through living with AIDS to a child with developmental disabilities pride in taking her first steps by herself. A woman with mental illness struggling to find her way through the fog of psychotropic meds until the right mix was found and she could see and feel. My great-grandparents who were married for 76 years and they still loved each other.
