More about me

If you would like to be a "friend" I definitely want to "see" my friends, so if you don't have a photo posted with your profile please send me one if you send me a "friend request." Also, if you don't have much info posted about you in your profile, I would like to know a little bit more about you. Otherwise, how can we really be "friends?" You can also PM me, and I'll send you my email address if you're still interested in being friends and would prefer to do it that way. Thank you!

I've been retired from the State Of Texas since 1999, and am enjoying my part-time jobs at the present time.  I've lived in Houston off and on since the late 1970's. My parents were a mixture of German, English and Irish (there might be more, but that's all I can remember!)

I have four adult children ranging in age from 50 down to 44 - my two sons are the oldest, and my two daughters are the youngest. My oldest son is married and living in Orlando, Florida, with his wife who was a widow with two adult sons. My youngest son is single and still living in our home state of Michigan. My oldest daughter is married and has two sons. She and her family live about 65 miles north of me in Montgomery, Texas. My youngest daughter is married and does not want children. They live about 10 miles from me, and her husband is a coach in one of my marathon training programs. He and I participate in a lot of Houston area marathons and shorter races together.

My favorite Houston restaurant is Jimmy Wilson's, and I like Starbuck's and La Madeleine for coffee or tea.

Something I would love to do in the future is to visit Holland and do a long bike ride on the miles and miles of bike paths.

My favorite color is red.

When it comes to dating and relationships ..........

I'm a happy and energetic woman who would like to meet a somewhat younger man who is athletically inclined - also a man who is interested in a mutually fulfilling and monogamous relationship. I am a very down-to-earth and young-at-heart woman, and I enjoy many athletic activities, including: running (and I love to run in the light rain if there's no lightning!), biking, aerobics, in-line skating, and strength-training. I like the outdoors, good conversation, good books, and a man who is not afraid of the kitchen!

I prefer a man who has some independent interests of his own and appreciates a woman who also has some independent interests of her own. I like a man who wants a mutually respectful relationship. I prefer to "see" who I'm corresponding with, so I would like a photo if you care to communicate. If you're not willing to share a photo or you're in a relationship or married, please walk on by! I'm not into corresponding for a long time without meeting early on for coffee, tea or a drink so we have a place where we can sit and talk to find out if we have a solid basis for friendship and communication ..... and, oh yes, to see if there is any attraction and/or chemistry! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, and a sense of humor is a very high priority!!
