Places I've been

I was born in Southern California but was raised my entire life in San Francisco. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and has the most exciting diversity of cultures and lifestyles which make it unique and special. The proximity to the ocean, mountains, snow, and heat only serve to make it more perfect. Oh, and fog is sooooo good for your skin!

~Canada is a breathtaking country that embraces visitors and steals a piece of their hearts!
~Mexico to visit Dad's family in Sonora. Mother is from Puerto Vallarta, but haven't made it there yet! Cabo San Lucas, snobbish, too Americanized and just not my cuppa tea.
~Wisconsin, Arcadia and Milwaukee, places I could easily live if I could move to the heat in the winter!
~Chicago, hot, hard, fast moving, thrilling and exhausting. A fantastic place for a short visit. My best pal lives in Oak Park, a magical place for those of us who love Frank Lloyd Wright!
~Future plans are looking towards relocation someplace much less expensive than the Bay Area and someplace warm most of the year. I am investigating

Hi! My name is Theresa and my nickame is "Ti", pronounced tea, not tie!...laughs. I'm a blonde haired (read dyed), golden-brown eyed 5'7" 100% pure Mexican gal (Latin temper, but quick to laugh.) I am a left leaning liberal San Franciscan. (say that 3 times fast!)

I am 51 (yes, hard to believe) look younger and often feel much older. I am very happily married, with children (sheesh, I sound like Peg Bundy.) I have two sons, Eric, age 25 (6'2 and the electrical project manager for the Bay Bridge expansion project.) His younger brother Kelly, age 20, has passed him in height at 6'3, (My youngest is known as the child from hell! He will grow up to be a professional comedian, or an axe murderer!) Kelly is working with a number of local musicians and rappers in writing, producing, and performing. He is a self taught, has a wonderful ear for music and I am very impressed with his work. My boys are the light of my life, and my reason for living.

I worked in advertising for 28 years (yes, I started when I was 10!) I seriously injured my knee ten years ago. After multiple surgeries and much physical therapy they decided the only option left to to enable me to walk would be a total knee replacement. Walking with an altered gait for so many years resulted in screwing up my right hip and back. I ended up needing a two level spinal fusion. All the numerous surgeries had an interesting impact on me in that I lost most of my hair. The anxiety of rapidly losing my hair was so much worse than the reality of it I ended up shaving my head and it was the most freeing and exhilarating experience of my life. Just think, never a bad hair day! I now suffer from Myofascial Pain Syndrome and basically am bed bound. Fortunately, I have the world at my fingertips with my computer and that has been a real life saver! I had hoped to start a new career after retirement traveling and working as a motivational speaker and who knows, it may just happen yet!

I love cooking, music, sang in a band for five years, playing the guitar (upside-down and backwards) and most of all, love magic...the kind that comes when two people laugh together. I hope to finish writing my cookbook, a compilation of family Mexican dishes as well as the family favorites that my husband and I have since created. I'm vivacious, romantic, luscious, funny, sexy (ok, that one's a toss up) an incurable flirt, and a Libra!

I was lucky enough to meet the man of my dreams on-line in Mar. 1997. My prince is from Canada. His name is Thomas, IndigoShades, and is the love of my life! We were married Mar. 3, 2000 after a long distance courtship of 3 years. He has been my rock and my strength through all of these health ordeals and I have been doubly blessed when he entered my life! Thomas has taught me to love, trust, and believe in magic. I awake every day to his smile and love and have found a whole new appreciation for life, family, harmony and shared dreams. He always keeps me laughing, and makes me feel loved and beautiful.  

Activities

I manage a Yahoo group of 500+ people who are researching or have had weight loss surgery. The options range from the lap band, roux-en-y (otherwise known as a stomach staple) to a vertical gastrectomy and then the gold standard of surgery, the Duodenal Switch. Our group was formed to educate and support everyone on the difficult journey from day to day mistreatment to the challenges and adaptation to weight loss and rediscovery of ones self image.
