As a small cluster of Dragon Riders flew
over the land, the Castle of Cirane'
stood majestically and reigned over the
Realm. Children played under a sky of
crystal blue and the sunshine washed
their faces and the land with the
newness of morning. The Riders
took note of the approaching tiny
caravan below and swooped downward in
friendly gesture to signal that they too
were at watch. They disappeared back
to the skies when the caravan rode
through the gates.

"A million stars, a million thoughts, My Heart... if you will but tell me yours," she said.

Evening fell upon the kingdom as the day's activities

drew to a close. The king had long since retired

to his chambers and the halls of the castle fell

silent. Sir Lars and his men rode into the

distant forest as the mist of night collected there.

And Lady Sye was asleep... or was she?

Dressed in dark apparel, equipped with her weapons

of battle, she made her way to the stairs, checking

stealthfully to be certain she was not discovered.

Through the stairwell and down into the stable, she

bridled her pony and rode quickly off into the

darkness...seeking the spot where Lightning and his

men had made camp for the night.

Peering into the black of wood, she saw a light of a

campfire. So she dismounted and tied her horse to

a tree so that no one would hear her. There were

horses tied no more than 20 yards ahead. She

looked, searching for the horse with the lightning

bolt on his bridle... knowing that if she had found

that, she had found the proper camp.

Armed with only a small shovel and bucket, she

found the tent where Lightning slept. His saddle

with similar markings rested in front of the tent.

Sye knew there would be a stream nearby, so she

searched for the water and dipped her bucket in...

bringing back water to her work. NOW she was

ready. Ever so quietly, she scraped her shovel to

dig a small hole, just large enough to hold the water

of 6 buckets. She widened the hole as to be about

Lightning's height. Then she filled the hole with the

water she had brought back.

"Now for some noise," she thought. So she placed

herself between their horses and began to make the

sounds of a mountain lion - scaring them and making

them rustle loudly. Suddenly, she slapped one on

the hind quarter and the horse bolted!

The noise was so loud it woke the camp and the men

went scampering into the night to contain the horses.

But the one she was more interested in came leaping to

his feet and bounding from the tent in such a hurry,

shouting orders to control the horses, so intent on his

task that he did not notice the mud puddle which had

formed from the water and dirt! Scantilly clad,

unsuspecting that a woman was among them, he

slipped on the mounded dirt and fell into the

crevasse of mud which was meant for him!

Slowly rising, covered in only mud and pants, Lightning

shouted for his men to gain control of the horses

and find this perpetrator!

Seeing her delight, Sye began to back away slowly

when she saw that one of the men had discovered

her horse and brought it to Lightning. After he studied

the bridle, he saw the royal emblem and realized who

must be at the bottom of this joke.

Before he could announce to his men the lady's

name, Sye came forward and said, "I believe that

is my horse." Moving from the darkness into

the camp light and reaching for the reins. "Give

him to me," she commanded.

Lightning looked at her smirk, him still dripping in

mud, and responded...

"Well played m'lady, but this will be the last time

for your childish games. Bear, Fox... get the lady's

horse and belongings. She won't be returning to

castle tonight."  With that order, two burly men

moved forward to take the her horse when she

went into a defensive crouch  and snarled as the

mountain lion.  Lightning stepped forward, "Sye, now

is not the time for your foolishness. Come with me

and let them take your horse," offering his hand

she relented and followed him into his tent.

~Light and Sye~
A new author, Light has been a student in the fantasy genre most of his life. He is acquainted with scores of stories and characters built by some of the best authors in fantasy, such as
J. K. Rowlings ("Harry Potter") or C. S. Lewis ("The Chronicles of Narnia"). When it comes to his own crafting of words, he is inventive and creative sending their characters into hosts of situations requiring wit and treachery. However, his gentleness in affaires du coeur are unmatched by the best of poets!
An experienced screenwriter and published journalist, but new to fantasy novels, Sye brings the family characters of The Realm to life through her techniques as a screenwriter. Visualizing their scenes on the Big Screen, her creativity matches Light's as their challenging interactions stir The Realm visually from peacetime to wartime... from captive dungeons and maidens in distress, to romantic love scenes that will kindle a fire in the coldest of hearts! Her extensive writing background lies in Classic Literature and she is a member of American Writers and Artists Inc.

The fire blazed with the perfection of heat as the two of them cuddled beside it. Sye placed her head upon Light's shoulder and dreamed starry-eyed dreams of a happy future. The king watched Sye's face as the young man left and with a smile on his face, he teased her. "So, my dear, what do you think of our Sir Lars?" he jeered. "He is very soft spoken," Sye answered, and again the timid smile returned. "Ah, I see a twinkle in your eye!" the king laughed. "Perhaps you might want to speak a bit more with the young knight?" "Father, do not tease me," she blushed. "He is but one of your knights. You have many in your army!" "Ah, that is true! But none have brought that scarlet color to your cheek!" he laughed. Luke was turning and tossing in his bed when he heard a voice coming to him, "Little brother I need you to come home! Mother needs our help! Please come soon." The message was so vivid that Luke awoke with a start and was sweating! He got out of bed and went to the window and looked back towards the Vail, and the voice came to him again, "Little brother please come as soon as possible!" Shocked by the clarity of the message he couldn't figure out why they were calling him Little Brother as he was the oldest child of his parents. He decided to visit his grandparents to see if he could get some answers. Photobucket "Brother," a voice came to Luke on his path. Luke looked around, but saw no one. He shimmered to human form and searched through the trees for a sign, when finally he saw her. She was hidden in the sun's rays and looked like himself only a young woman. "Little Brother," she said, "Thank you for following your heart. You have not seen, but yet you believe what your mother has said. What she has told you is true and in time, your father will also believe. But it will only be granted unto you." "What will be granted to me Taryn?" Luke asked. "Ah, you know me. Very good. Then you know that I work for our family," Taryn said. "Our relatives, the fairies, have hidden her well and have given her my name so as not to create a new birth record. You will find the baby if you go there. Use your heart. For Father is confused and grieving and cannot feel by his heart right now. This is how they were able to trick him. Go, move forward and I will lead you. I promise you will not fail."

Luke saw Sheri, knowing he must do something quickly.
"The black dragon made one pass over the ship and Sheri knew this was her answer. One more rung and he would reach her, sparing the others their lives..."
Photobucket
Photobucket Thinking and speaking slowly as if considering each detail as she spoke, "Not another place, but another source. It was once told that the first born of the union of King Odin's daughter and her husband would have an unexplained wealth of power." She remembered as she told the story, "That at his conception, his mother felt him move immediately in the womb and that he protected her from there." "But where would we find that child, Mistress?" the creature asked. "Not child," she looked at him as she stroked his neck from behind, "But young man now... and he is on his way here. How convenient that he will not be far from our home," she laughed, and when she did she let go an evil hiss.
The mark on his chest started glowing and Luke began to rise up off the ground. The temptress came to him and his mark became white hot. "I see you're experimenting in how to reach me, this is good seeing as your queen has thrown you to the side. I’m the only woman you need," she said and she started to materialize in front of him. Luke opened his eyes as she stood there naked in front of him. "Come to me my lover," she said. As Luke rose to go to her, Taryn began whispering in his ear, "I’m right here brother. I’ve almost got it, just a few seconds more... okay I’ve got it!" Taryn said, "Now don't touch her! Close your eyes and think of the Vail and hunting rabbits with Loki and Zira. Slowly but surely the mark glowed less and less and her image faded until she was gone and only Taryn and Luke remained.

"Hi Dad! The city is all a-flutter with the news that the Royal Family is here! I had to go ask someone who the family was," she laughed. "Then I found out it was us! Anyway, I'd like to ask you permission for Amy to stay with me for a week or two. I thought she could use a little instruction on how to be a refined young diplomat. But Mom told me to ask you. Can she stay with me? I mean, I am certain you and Mom don't need her around all of the time, if you understand?" Taryn winked at her father. "What do you say?" "Okay Sweetie, you can stay with your sister for awhile and get your feet wet with the diplomats." Light said.

Princess Amethyst
At the Vail, Amy helped her father tend the horses. She had learned to groom them and feed them and shovel the stalls out. Although, mostly Light took that task on as he continually told her it was not a task for a young lady of distinction. But Amy was more a tomboy than a lady. She loved the horses and often took hers out and rode bareback. Several times she scared her mother riding past their porch and holding on to nothing but the mane while she rode upsidedown. Light was amused, but Sye continually reminded him that she would need to learn social etiquette before her studies in Drasnia as a diplomat in a few years.

A Watchful Sye Photobucket Getting to the boundary, Light looked for Luke and the man. He saw them out in the distance and closed in quickly on them, shimmering back to human form and approaching them. Luke saw his father and ran to him where Light looked at him and checked him for injuries. Quickly, Light drew his sword and advanced on the man. "I thought I told you to stay away! Now either you're hard of hearing or just plain stupid!" "Hold on," said the man, "I was called here! So before you take another step, ask the boy!" Light paused and turned to look at Luke, knowing this was a mistake as you never turn your back on your enemy. The stranger struck with blinding speed! Light barely was able to side step the blow and block the next! Now facing the man, he said, "Well that was your chance, Mister! You'll not get a second one!" With that, Light brought his sword up in an arcing swing! The stranger easily parried the swing drawing his poniard. Light slashed underneath the stranger's defenses and once again they faced each other. Quickly glancing to see where Luke was, he saw the grey wolf with black ear tips and knew Luke was safe with Sye. Photobucket The bear and the fox were just coming to Light's side when the stranger saw that he was outnumbered and said, "This is all I needed to see!" He laughed and added, "Another time wolf! Make no mistake for we willll meet again!" Then he disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Bear came up to Light and said, "You're bleeding Boss. Let me take a look." Sye shimmered and held Luke, all the while she was looking on at Bear and Light. Then she saw Light stumble a bit. "Light? Is he ok, Bear?" Fox saw the injury and Sye's worry, so he came over to take Luke by the shoulder and gave her a stern look, not wanting to say anything in front of the child. Sye saw the urgency in Fox's glance and ran to Light's side. "Light? Oh Bear! Help him!! Please!!" She reached for Light's arm, but she saw the blood left on her sleeve. "What can I do? Just tell me," Sye asked quickly as she stared at Bear. Photobucket Photobucket Elaine - Matriarch of Light's Family - deceased yet active in Spirit! Sheri
But as the cheers from the crowd grew, Sheri noticed a flickering light from the blade of her sword. She watched it quickly and saw the reflection of Zap for a brief second before it disappeared. Astonished momentarily, the smile wiped from her face. Then the sound of the cheers returned and Luke squeezed her hand. She smiled and waved to her people.

A Different Enemy
Photobucket Sheri looked at Luke and then finished the food on her plate. She watched the tavern wenches dancing and then saw that the guys were enjoying to the fullest the ale. Pie smiled and winked at one of the girls and Ohno wore a smile as well. But Luke seemed all too interested in the dancing. "Well, you can stay and enjoy the atmosphere," said Sheri. "I am going to get myself a room." Sheri felt the coin she had left in her pocket, "If you will excuse me, Sir?" But Luke made no remark. "If you are enjoying their dance so, m'Lord, why don't you join them?" Sheri snapped. "Nope, just never saw anything like this. The ale is having its effect on me, so I think you're right about getting some rest. Let's go and get the rooms all set up." Turning to Pie and Ohno, "Hey guys, remember that Inn back up the road? Go there and a room will be waiting for you when you're done here." Then he slapped them on the shoulders and left with Sheri. When they arrived at the Inn, they paid and signed for the rooms and went upstairs. Luke walked Sheri to her door, which was down the hall several doors away from his. He unlocked her door and handed Sheri the key. "Thanks Luke," she smiled. "I'll meet you in the morning to tell you about the conversation prior to your meeting." As the key touched Sheri's hand, Luke held her hand a moment longer and kissed it, "Until the morning, m'lady," he said and turned to find his room. Photobucket Then a moment later he turned back to her, "Excuse me, I seem to be a little confused here. Could you please point me in the right direction?" Sheri pointed him towards his room down the hall. Then with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, she closed her door and took from her pack the 7 SCARVES more correctly referred to as veils. Once she was dressed, careful to place the veils just right as not to reveal too much, she gently opened her door, tiptoed to Luke's door and knocked softly. Hearing the knock on the door and figuring it to be Pie or Ohno, Luke just yelled, "Come in!" as he finished taking off his clothes and headed into the wash room. Sheri slid into the room and stood momentarily, wondering if she should have even thought of this. "Why not?" she asked herself. "He was the one to kiss me on deck and he was the one who protected me! Least I can do is provide some entertainment." So she glided across the floor of his room until he was in sight. His back was turned to her, so she walked up behind him, and taking just one veil from the one which was her sash, she threw it over his shoulder and let it gently fall across his chest. Tugging at it lightly, the silk slid across his skin as he began to turn in her direction. He turned to see where the veil had come from and saw Sheri standing there. He became very excited as she moved back out into the sleeping area. Luke followed her and sat on the edge of the bed and said, "This is far superior to those other girls." Sheri didn't say a word, only wriggled her way around him and removed another veil. She bent backwards across his lap and took the veil wrapped close to her breast from its place and slid it across his nose so that when he was able to see through it, he saw a hint of her bare skin glistening in the candlelight. Reaching for her, she danced her way out of his grasp and then back in. He saw the patch of her bare skin and tried to imagine how she would look totally naked. Noticing that his eyes looked a little glazed over and that he was swooning in her movements, she removed two more veils and made certain to touch his skin with each one so that he would feel the smoothe sensuous softness of the silk. Coming closer to look into his eyes, she released the third veil from her face and came close to his lips...as if she were going to kiss him. But as her eyes drew his attention, she took his hand and put it on one of the two remaining veils which covered her body and softly said, "Take this," giving him the corner of the veil to pull. Luke looked into her eyes and gave the veil a good tug and watched what happened next with great anticipation. Sheri spun softly and as the veil reached its end, she laid herself backwards across his lap. Smiling at him, she took his other hand and placed it on the veil's corner, the last veil, as she wiped the smile from her face and looked into his eyes with a longing wish. As the last veil was closed only by a loose knot, Luke tugged again and watched Sheri as the last veil fell to the ground. He leaned forward and kissed her deeply, moving his left hand to hold her close and his right hand to caress her body. Now that she was as totally naked as he was, he reached for her wholly and kissed her lips deeply, falling back onto the bed with her on top of him. Sliding to his mouth, Sheri kissed him as she had wished for so long with so much passion that they did not notice the noise in the hall, or when their door opened. With the loud click, Luke thought quickly and grabbed the covers and threw them across Sheri's body and held her still. "Whoa!" Pie exclaimed. "Sorry, we must have the wrong room." "Yeah, when you've had as much drink as we have, all the doors look alike!" Ohno added. "Excuse the interruption." The two of them backed out of the room. Luke looked at Sheri and smiled, "They seemed pretty drunk. Maybe they won't even remember anything." He went back to kissing her. Sheri leaned up on Luke's chest as she peaked at him still under the covers. She slowly moved off of his chest, not even wrapping herself in the covers, and sat on the side of the bed. At a moment's notice she began to cry. Luke sat up next to her and put his arms around her. He kissed ner neck, "What's the matter, Sheri?" "I have felt things for you since that day at the academy," she sobbed. "Feelings that I didn't understand. I watched your folks and I see how loving they are and then there is you..." She paused and turned to watch his reaction. "We shouldn't do this. I never intended for you to get that last veil. I thought you would have fallen asleep or something. But..." she stopped and touched his thigh, "but when I looked into your eyes, when I gave you the corner of the second to last veil, I knew that I wanted this to happen." Sheri turned to him, totally disrobed, "then if you know these things in your heart, it is all I could ever ask." She touched his forehead to push the hair out of his eyes. "And that tonight may not happen tonight, but it will in the future, because I hold you here," and she took his hand and placed it on her breast, "in my heart." Sheri kissed his cheek, wrapped in the blanket and left to return to her room where she dressed and slid back into her own bed. Sheri woke with the sunlight streaming through her window. She splashed some water on her face and dressed, but then she noticed a veil out on the night stand and remembered where she had left the rest of them. "No, now what do I do?" she thought, "Leave them there or knock on his door?" Then she remembered what had happened and what almost came of her antics. She wondered if Pie and Ohno had seen her and if they really knew it was Luke's room.
"Luke, What Fox means is that the people who are here for the investigation are expecting to see you as your wolf or as you," Sheri explained. "Fox doesn't want you to shimmer to your dragon because the enemy is looking for you to do that." "Not only that Sheri," Fox added. "They are looking for you to lead them to the dragon! Are you aware of that?" "Yes, I overheard that the other day," Sheri confessed. "But do they know why I am here?" "No," Fox answered. "And we do not want to give them a clue, so be mindful of that!" Then Fox turned to Luke, "You are not just silent muscle, ok? I have a job for you, but right now I won't go into it." "Okay," said Luke, "you guys are the spies. I can keep a low profile and wait for my orders. In the meantime, are we going into the castle and look for Sheri's brother? Will you be able to recognize him?" Luke asked. "We are going into the castle walls, not inside," Fox said, "because I need to scout the entrances. Sheri would you recognize him?" "I think," she said, "I hope!" "Well then, you might see him tonight," Fox smiled. "He's working the main gate and we will need a distraction. Do you have your veils?" "Yes," she answered. "Put them on, young lady. You will be the main event while Luke and I slip inside," Fox answered. "I want to check on the horses." Fox walked away from them as Sheri began to pull the veils from her pack. Luke walked up to her and touched her shoulder gently. She stood to face him. "I know what you are thinking Luke," Sheri said as she came closer. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." But as she turned to walk away, he touched her shoulder again. This time Sheri was the one to move in and kiss Luke, pressing her lips to his and then she separated slightly. "So you know," she whispered. "I love you too." Once again, she kissed him and then disappeared behind some nearby shrubs to get dressed in her veils. Fox whispered, "Luke, come with me I need you to scout out something. Luke went with Fox and asked what he needed. "I want you to scout out those listening posts and just take notice of anything else. Meet me back here." Luke shimmered into the wolf and cautiously went about his task. As Luke left, Fox noted that he had a shadow. One of a grey wolf. So he smiled, realizing that he had his grandfather watching over him. That left Fox to check on Sheri. "Are you ready yet?" Fox called to her. "Almost. What will I be doing?" Sheri asked as she emerged from the bushes. "Exactly what you are doing to me now, knocking the eyeballs out," Fox stood smiling. "What?" Sheri asked. "Just hold their attention, Darlin'. Luke and I are going to do the rest, this time," Fox smiled. "Next time, you will help." Luke was doing his job making note of all the listening posts and what kind of weapons they had, when on the way back to Fox he noticed a grey wolf out in the distance putting his muzzle into the air and sniffing found that he was a familiar scent but didn't have the time to investigate. He would have sent him a message but thought better of it... no need in announcing where they were. The grey wolf saw him, acknowledged him and ran off into the forest. Then Luke went back to find Fox. "OK," Fox told Sheri, "when Luke returns then you will ride with me. We want you to appear from nowhere and simply float on the breeze as if you are a hallucination of their wildest fantasies. Think you can handle that?" "Handle?" Sheri said, a bit distracted. "Yes, yes, anything you want Fox, but..." she stammered a bit. "Yes?" Fox crooned as he smiled, knowing already what she was going to say. "Could I please ride with Luke instead?" she asked. "No, because he will not know how to do this," Fox admitted. "This has to be perfect, Sheri. No room for errors." "Yes sir," she relinquished. "I am your student, afterall." Luke loped up and shimmered by Fox and Sheri and reported what he had seen and that he saw the grey wolf. Luke was aware of who it was. "How did he get here?" Luke asked. "I don't know," said Fox. "He greeted me when I arrived so he's been here for a while. We'll have to find him and see what he knows. Are ready to move out?" "Sure," said Luke. "Ready and willing." Fox mounted his horse and Luke as well, but when he saw them leaving Sheri's horse tied, he watched her. As Sheri hoped up behind Fox, Luke looked at her strangely and Fox noticed the glance. "Questioning your elders, Luke?" Fox looked at him sternly, implanting in his mind that he was not the leader while Fox was there. "No Sir," said Luke, but he still wasn't sure what was going to happen next. "Ok then," and Fox turned his horse around. "Hold on, Sheri! This is going to be a swift drop!" They rode toward the castle and reached there under the cover of night. Fox held his hand up for Luke to stop and then he continued to get Sheri as close to the entrance gate as he could. Photobucket "You are on your own here, my dear," Fox cautioned her. "Luke and I will be inside. If anything happens, protect yourself and get back to where we separated with Luke, ok?" "Sure Fox," she agreed, "but if they discover me before I can get out, take Luke and get out of here. I'm prepared for the worst with them." "Yeah, well maybe I'm not! I've never lost an agent yet and don't intend on doing that now. So off you go," he said, and Sheri jumped down. "May their dreams come true, m'Lady. Luke and I will see to the rest." She smiled back at him without a word, then waited for him to get out of sight. Sheri danced her way through the shrubs which lined the border, showing herself and then disappearing behind the bushes. Then she thought of another way! While Sheri danced, the veils waved in the light breeze. She stepped out from the shrubs and caught the attention of the two men at the gate. As she drew closer, she used her own magic and disappeared so what they saw was the veils flickering and dancing alone in the breeze. As she glided closer, she materialized and they could see her again. Just as one guard began to approach her, she disappeared. Fox and Luke waited for Sheri to work her work her magic and when the guards attention was focused on her, they slipped inside the castle and waited by the door to make sure they weren't seen. "Okay," said Fox, "We are looking for anything that can connect the wizard with the powers to be here in Anitae. If we can prove he's been giving any information away, when we find him the king gives his permission to take him out. Then we can go back and dismantle their spy network in the Realm." The closer she got to the men, the more she saw and in the half-light, she thought it was her brother in the doorway. She backed away again and disappeared. One of the guards atop the castle wall was watching Sheri and told his partner to keep watch. He went down to the front gate and spoke with the two guards and then disappeared. Sheri danced on and appeared, getting even closer to them when like a bolt, she was struck and knocked to the ground before she could disappear again. Two of the men carried her inside the castle while the last kept watch. Luke heard some noise from back at the main gate so he tapped Fox on the shoulder. "They got Sheri," he said. "I can't hear her music anymore." "We have to get out of here, Luke," Fox reminded him. "We can't do anything crazy right now. C'mon we'll come back for her. Trust me okay?" Luke hesitated. "Boy, you cannot jeopardize this mission because you are distracted! Focus!" Fox whispered sternly. "Okay, Uncle Fox," Luke whispered, but not letting go of his fears for her. Sheri was taken before a council of people from Anitae, but the head of the council told the guards to lock her in a holding room with no windows. Then he instructed for them to send for the apothecary. Photobucket

She came to the glade where the patch of meadow flowers were growing. She picked one then sat down cross-legged in the grass and marveled at its beauty. How delicate the petals were and the inner beauty that sprang up from the center. Each tender pistol upright and glistening for the bees to pollinate them... reminded her of herself. She wanted so much to be the beauty that would catch Buck's eye.

Photobucket Photobucket Its easy to see from this picture why they call the area The Smokies. The Cherokee indians called it The Land Of A Thousand Smokes. Mist and natural oils from the trees give an impression of smoke. This photo is taken from Clingman's Dome. It was here I met some of my ancestors when I was 12.

Photobucket Light walked in and faced away from Loki and Zira, then faced Sye and smiled. He turned around with a stern look on his face, "I don't know how to tell you two this, but all I can say is..." he paused and looked again at Sye and smiled and then nack at the twins, "Your teachers feel that both of you..." Light waited for a minute or two and Loki grew impatient and said, "C'mon Dad, you're killing me!" Light snapped a stare at him and he quickly backed down. Then he began again, "They want you to forego your senior year and go directly into the advanced training with instructors. You'll receive full credit and graduate with your class when they do. Now they say, Zira, you should go into the diplomat corps and Loki will sign with the troops or maybe undercover. So what do think of that?" Sye looked at Light immediately, but Loki spoke first, "No more classes!! Awesome!! I hate school! I hate the way they treat you and everyone's always watching us!" "No more school, Dad?" Zira asked. "Are they ready for that?" Sye asked Light. "Apparently they are ready, my sweet, but that doesn't mean it's going to be any easier, you two! If anything, it's going to get tougher being out in the field and doing all the boring tasks that need to be done!" Light smiled. But Loki's mind turned off at the thought of no additional classes! He would be free to soar with Streak and fight and clash swords for real! Who knows? Someday he might even be able to save someone in their family!! Loki the dreamer emerged, "Well, I have some things I must do here to get ready for this new training. See you at dinner." Before anyone could say a word, he left, closing the door behind him. Light was a little disturbed by his actions and sent him a mental message about not being too hasty! Photobucket "Dad, honestly, you already have one daughter in the corps and Amy is promised to be there as well!" Zira began. "I want to be like you. I want to defend Cirane'! I want to be like Luke, a Knight Protector! I want to be strong like my mother and fight!" "There's a lot to be said for fighting with words, Zira," Sye spoke calmly. "Come on, Mom! Would you have been satisfied behind a desk?!" Zira looked at her and then at her father. "If I can't fight for the Realm, I won't be a fairy! I hated them and I'll hate you both if you make me continue on like this! I did not study all these years, learning how to wield a sword," she paused, "just to be strapped to a desk!" Zira did not wait for a response. She stood up and slammed the door as she left. "Well, I would say she is quite determined to be like her father!" Sye smiled hesitantly as she glanced to Light, knowing how he hated to be walked out on by his children. Photobucket "Now for the big question! Who was that gentleman you were talking to?" Light asked his son. "Oh, that was someone Uncle Fox wanted me to meet, something about some training," Loki responded calmly, knowing there was an undercover assignment in the mix. "Uh huh," answered Light suspiciously. "Uncle Fox! Now why do my hackles rise when I think about this?" Photobucket

Feeling the vulnerability of the village, Zira knew instinctively that she needed to surround the camp with a protection grid. She wondered where her father was, but knew that if he would be in camp, he would be safe. So she ran to the highest summit in the village and stood watching the flames grow higher from the fire. Each scream affected her like an arrow through her heart. Then in the shadows, she saw some men holding a woman hostage. Quickly, she stretched out her arms and a blue glow came from her fingertips. She draped the glow across the village; and then being on the inside of the safety bubble, she walked toward the commotion concentrating on the thieves among the villagers and the hostage she saw. "Hold!" she screamed as she saw the man holding the young woman by the throat. But the man did not listen. So Zira summoned the lightning and struck him dead. The young woman took off running and in the light she looked to be the chief's daughter. When the other thieves saw what had happened, two tried to approach Zira from opposite sides. She waited, as her grandfather had shown her, and then turned swiftly taking down the two with a split lightning bolt. After that, she saw the others trying to run away into the forest. She sent out a stun spark which hit two, but the others escaped. One of the young villagers stayed as she took on the perpetrators and at seeing what she had done, he brought rope from his hut. Zira looked at him and motioned to wrap the rope around hands and ankles and the villager did that and watched over the two until the chief came. When the chief arrived, he looked at Zira and the bodies lying on the ground dead. He smiled at her and called two more young men to take the captured men way. Then he patted Zira on the back and walked with the boys to take prisoners to Aldo's far off huts. As they passed the chief's daughter's hut, she ran to her father and told him quickly of her ordeal. He hugged and comforted her. Then he instructed the young men to take the prisoners to Aldo's hut and to wait with them until the Great Wolf returned. Photobucket
Photobucket Loki Photobucket Loki was walking around camp, staying as far away from Fox as he could because he needed to seem like a loner. He checked out the weapons they had, mostly bows and arrows, so he figured that he was among the archers of the clan. When he reached the fire where some of the men were sitting and talking, he sat and listened. "Yeah, the shot was too good to be true. She stopped dead in the middle of the path, horse turning around and she was obviously looking for her mate. I had a dead shot, but the horse moved and I landed it lower than I wanted. But I saw the blood and knew from that it would do the job! You should have seen the dope, trying to cradle her on his horse and take her somewhere," the man said. "Which way did they head?" another asked. "Out of our woods, I'll tell you!" he laughed. "It looked like they were heading toward Drasnia." "Drasnia," Loki thought to himself. He knew his mother and father would be leaving for the Vail this morning, but it was early. He didn't think his father would leave so early. The men laughed, "Yeah, you should have seen her, falling from her horse like a cut pig!" They laughed again. "And that royal emblem on the saddle all soaked with her blood from the fall!" Loki could listen to no more. He realized that the woman they spoke of was his mother. He worried that she was alright, but he couldn't leave. Not now. To leave now would implicate Fox and then they would both be in trouble, not to mention anyone else Fox may have on this job. Loki ran into the woods deeper and deeper until he found a wide open field. He whistled for Streak and he arrived quickly. No words were spoken other than the one command Loki gave him, "Take me far away and High as you can go!!" With that, Streak took off. Photobucket Photobucket Streak Photobucket
Photobucket He jumped back on the dragon and reached Yanar in moments. Landing near the clearing where they last stood, Loki slid into the gates, uncertain if there were still guards on patrol. There were. Avoiding them, he made his way to Gisele's room and knocked lightly. No answer came. He knocked again, and this time the maiden girl opened the door gingerly. "Lady Gisele, is she here? Is she alright?" Loki asked. "Who is asking?" she said. "Tell her a friend," Loki answered. He heard her speak from the background to let him in. Gisele sat in her bed, covered with blankets. Her hair was nicely groomed and she was still shivering from Demir's attack on her. Loki looked around the room, noticing chairs still knocked over and the torn garments lying on the floor. "He will never hurt you again, my lady," Loki said softly and she held her arms out to him. Their embrace brought more tears for her and consoling softness from Loki, but he still held the anger of Demir touching his woman and hurting her in this way. At that moment he received a message from Fox that there were problems and that he should return. "I have to leave you, Gisele," he said as he swept his hand through her hair. "But I will return and set Yanar back to rights." "They were going to kill my father," Gisele cried. "I know, Precious, but the danger is less now that Demir is dead." On that word, he separated from her and kissed her cheek once more before leaving the room. Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket When they began their ride back to the Vail, it was at a relaxing pace. The couple was enjoying the road back and nature as it surrounded them. Then Sye took on her tease attitude and turned to Light and laughed. "You always say you aren't an old man," she giggled. "Prove it!!" Sye clapped her heels into her horse's side and broke into a gallop, but Light wasn't expecting it and she got quite a lead on him. As she rode faster and further, she turned around but Light was not insight. She slowed her horse just a bit, just in time to hear a rustle of birds taking flight from the trees. She looked up, seeing they had been frightened by something. At that instant she saw an arrow pass her closely to the left. She halted the horse to look for Light again, but that only made her a still target. The next arrow landed, hitting her in the abdomen. She clutched it to try to pull it out, but she felt faint when she saw the blood pouring out of her wound. After that, all she remembered was hitting something hard and passing out. "Light," the breeze whispered his name in his ear as he galloped to catch up to Sye. "Hurry!" A glimmer of light danced in front of him and appeared. It was Sye's mother who called to him and tried to warn him that she was in trouble. Light slapped his horse, giving him more speed when he caught a glimpse of Sye's horse standing by a bunch of trees. Then ahead on the path he saw a heap of something resting lifeless on the ground. Light jumped off of his horse and ran to Sye's side picking her up and clutching her to him. He howled, running with her, back to his horse. He made for the school in lightning speed, going directly to the infirmary. The doctors took Sye inside and worked on her as Light waitied outside wondering how he was going to tell everyone what had happened. Then his anger flared when he thought about going after who it was that was responsible. Photobucket Zira was the first to hear her father's call. It wasn't exactly a call, but a mournful feeling his heart sent out. She sensed he needed her so she followed her senses to the infirmary, expecting to see him hurt. Once she arrived, she saw him sitting in the hallway. Photobucket

When the duchess entered the chamber alone, at first, Sye had fallen asleep in her woman form. The duchess walked over to her and kicked her side. "Wake up!" she scowled. Sye opened her eyes and sat up straight, realizing who was doing the kicking. "Where are my children?" Sye growled. "We are preparing them for death, my Queen," the duchess laughed. "You would not kill two innocents!" Sye cried out. "Want to watch? Afterall you did watch Albert's death, didn't you!?" the duchess roared. "I know you have a reason to have brought us all here," Sye demanded. "What is it that you want?" "Your crown!" the duchess screamed. "Impossible," Sye dismissed the thought. At that moment, the duchess showed her the vision of the pups, all tied with Zira's head on the chopping block and the executioner standing over her. "Wrong answer," the duchess turned to walk away. "Ok!" Sye screamed, "Ok," she cried. "It is yours for the safe return of my twins to their father... for my crown." The duchess walked over to Sye and slapped her in the face hard, "Done! But I would have gotten that anyway!" "What do you mean?" Sye slowly responded after that strike. The duchess turned to the guard who opened the door. Sye's face lit up when she saw the pups running toward her, or so she thought. They stopped at the duchess and tugged at her dress to pick them up. "See? They are mine now, anyway!" she laughed. "They don't need your milk anymore and they come to me, not you, on their own!" Sye watched them. It was apparent they were happy where they were, with the duchess. "Queen of the Realm, you will be taken to your kingdom and to your castle. You will relinquish all rights to me as ruler and in return I will return your children to their father," the duchess offered her the ultimatum. "If you decline, these two innocents will be slaughtered within the hour." Without thought, Sye spoke up, "For my children, I relinquish my crown! But may God have mercy on your soul when my husband gets to you..." "There are ways to control that too!" she laughed. "You were only the first step!" With that, she picked up the pups and gave them a loving hug in front of Sye. They responded to the duchess with licks on her cheeks as all three of them left. Photobucket Sye was bound by her wrists only as she was thrown into the carriage with her guard close behind. Nothing was said between her, the guard or the coachman. Sye closed her eyes and concentrated, sending a message to Light and Aldo when the guard kicked her leg hard. "Wake up!" the guard screamed. "I am not sleeping!" Sye growled as she gritted her teeth. The guard acted quickly and pulled her knife to Sye's throat, "Quiet Queen! Or I will kill you now and not wait until after!" Sye thought of the words and realized that the duchess intended to kill her after the relinquishing of the crown, and now the guard watched her every move so as not to allow for the mental messages to Light. Light was just coming back from his talk with Lady Elaine and was on the porch when he got a message from Aldo that the duchess had made her demand that Sye relinquish the crown and are on their way to the castle. No word as yet on the twins. "Okay Father, I'll be there shortly," Light sent back. Just as he finished, Luke appeared. "I'm going, Dad!" he insisted in his teemaged way. "No you're not," said Light. "I need you to be with Bear and Wren, Son. This something I must do alone." Photobucket The carriage pulled through the gate at Cirane' and the guard turned to Sye. "I am releasing your bonds, but if you try to escape, the twins will be dead before we get back! Our people are inside your castle and there are enough to defeat the king's army," she said. "You have my word," Sye responded. "I will not attempt escape." The guard walked beside Sye closely and Sye lead them to the main hall. The soldiers and servants alike all bowed low as she passed and when she walked into the chamber, she went directly to the throne and sat as Aldo appeared to her. "You were told, Aldo?" Sye asked. "Yes, your Majesty," he responded. "Then bring me my crown," Sye commanded, with sadness in her voice. The chamberlain brought forth a satin pillow with the Royal's crown on top. He took the crown from the pillow and placed it on Sye's head and then Sye stood before the soldiers and servants of the Realm. "As an act in good faith to pledge full cooperation for the return of my children and for the safe dwelling of our citizens, I pass over my crown to the Duchess," she removed the crown from her head and gave it to the duchess's representative who was with them. He took the crown and then a cheer went up from the room as all of the agents who were there from Natwann revealed themselves. They stood more than half of the population of the castle and the king's army, had they chosen to move at that time, all would have been defeated. So The Realm's soldiers all stood in watch for the move of Prince Light who was not in attendance, but everyone knew where Sye was in jeopardy he would not be far away. Light was in the ante chamber taking note of the people who were cheering and he was relaying this to Aldo. He sent a short thought to Sye, "I'm here." ...and that was all. He then shimmered and went to wait in the forest for the carriage to pass so he would follow it and attempt a rescue. A tear touched Sye's cheek as she received Light's message, but instantly she responded to him as she sat down from the excitement of cheers... "No rescue. Not here. Twins." But Aldo received the message as well and he stood forward. "As I understand, Light's Twins are to be returned! Where are they?" "They are where they need to be," the representative spoke up, "Waiting for their father." "I am their grandfather!" Aldo said, "And I will take them now!" Sye's guard went to her and quietly said, "Get him to back down or they will be dead before we return!" "Aldo," Sye quieted him, "This has all been worked out in agreement. Light must come for them when the duchess takes them to the meeting spot to give them back to Light." "Yes m'Lady," Aldo bowed and left the room. "Well done," the guard jabbed her in the side with the butt of her sword. "Your twins will live, for now." Light sent out a thought to Aldo as well as Sye, "I'm close by, no need to worry. I'll get everyone home safely. No further messages now. Don't want to arouse suspicions." Photobucket When the guard pushed Sye back to her room, at the duchess's castle, she turned to secure her in chains and Sye came up off the ground with a kick to her abdomen. The guard doubled over and Sye came down on her head with both hands and broke her neck. All she needed to do now was to find the pups. She walked stealthly down the hall until she heard them whimpering. The door was locked and she fought feverishly to open it before someone heard her. It was difficult to use her hands with her wrists bound with rope, but she did manage to open it and the pups came tumbling out. Looking around for something to put them in, to hide and shield them, she found a basket in the hall which held a plant. She removed the plant and dusted the dirt out. Placing the pups in the basket she left the site looking for a door to the outside. Light was not far away, circling the premises, looking for a point of entry into the duchess's lair. Luke was only a few minutes behind his father but stayed in the woods until he could get a good fix on where everyone was. A few minutes back from Luke was Bear and the rest of the group who decided to wait and set up camp by the river and wait for Luke's signal. Sye found a window and slid from there to the ground. She thought quickly and seeing the river, hoped that the basket would be buoyant. She placed it in the shallow side and seeing that it floated, set the basket in the river and let go... not knowing how or when, but praying that she would see her babies again. She turned to go back to the castle. Wishing that her arms would not be bound so tightly so that she could even the score with the duchess, Sye knew the best thing to do would just be to run and hope that Light would find her. She heard a crack and turned. But it was not Light. It was another of the duchess' guards! He wasn't as nice as the one she had just killed. He threw her up against a tree and said, "Trying to escape? What a shame and the party is just about to begin." Light entered the lair and was searching for Sye and the twins when he heard the commotion created by the guard and Sye. He headed in that direction but he sensed that the duchess was close at hand. This guard put chains around Sye's ankles so that she could not pull another kick like the one dealt to her original guard. But as she struggled, knowing that this time might be the last she had to delay her own death, this guard hurried. "Come now, Sye, you wouldn't want to be late for your own party!" he crooned, "Or should I say funeral?" He laughed wickedly As he took her down the hallway to the duchess's chambers. As they walked through the entrance of the duchess's room, the guard laughed heartily. "Here she is, your Majesty!" "Ahh, Majesty... I like the sound of that!" the duchess said, "very fitting, don't you think, former Queen Sye of the Realm?" "You will never be Queen of the Realm!" Sye shouted. "That was my mother and you are no where near alike!" "But I AM Queen of the Realm, right now, as a matter of fact! Thanks to you!" the duchess laughed strong. "There's nothing you can do to stop me!" "Maybe not me, but my husb..." The duchess interrupted her, "Your husband is miles from here and would not make a move because of the pups." Sye quieted in hopes that she would not bring the thought up of the Twins, but the duchess had reminded herself of them. "Bring the twins to me in the exhibition hall," the duchess ordered. "They should see this death!" "No they are babies! You cannot expose them..." Sye began, but the guard drew his sword at her back and she stopped. The queen laughed and then Sye told her. "You cannot kill me. You still need me to feed them." "Oh, I assure you. They have been quite weaned away for over a week now," the duchess responded. "Get them for me and make haste!! Send another guard to escort our friend to the room where she will meet her demise!" As the one guard went to fetch the pups, another was sent in to take Sye to her execution room. Before they left, she watched the duchess walk out onto her balcony. "Citizens of Natwann!" the duchess crooned, "We have come to the end of an era where the king's blood is no longer in control of the Realm! We are!" The crowd below cheered for her. "Now, you are all invited to the exhibition hall to watch the final descendant of the king perrish! Then the Realm will be ours!" the duchess echoed over the castle and beyond the walls... where Luke stood waiting to find his way into the castle. Light slipped in behind the duchess and said, "Don't you think you should check that out with me first?" As the duchess turned, her face drawn tight with anger, the guard grabbed Sye fiercely as the duchess grabbed her sword from the wall. "This time, you will be out of my hair for good!" she screamed. The duchess faced Light with her sword drawn at Sye's neck. "Have you anything to say before your death?" the duchess laughingly asked Sye. Photobucket

Loki had been walking in the forest looking for his sister. He noticed a fog moving in slowly across the land, one which was quite dense. He sensed the aroma of magic in the air and ahead he saw a very hazy figure. He ran for the figure, but it seemed to be incased in a sort of glass bubble. He could not get inside, but he did hang onto it and when it left the ground, Loki saw himself rise into the air. Photobucket

Light put his arms around Sye's waist and looked at her, "Are you sure you're alright?" Sye did not answer him. Instead, she turned away from him because her butterflies had returned when she thought the lake. "If you could read my thoughts just then, why not now? You trusted me with my powers in battle, yet you do not seek to understand through our interaction? M'Lord, there is something wrong with this." Still uncertain that he understood, Sye walked away from him... standing in front of the mirror, taking the ribbon from her hair to release it to her shoulders. She grasped the brush from the vanity and began to comb. "How can I answer you if like everyone else you consider only my station and not my heart?" She turned to watch him from across the room. Light walked up to Sye, "It's not your station in life that has me worried, my sweet. It's that I," he paused and looked down, "Have never been with a woman before. I too get so confused when we are close like when we were at the lake that day. Kissing you, my head was swimming, and I was just doing what I felt. It's not like fighting a battle where I know that you kill the enemy." He placed his hands on Sye's shoulders and sttod there looking into her eyes. "Again with the chaste business!" Sye said as she pushed past him and stood alone by the door. "I heard you the first time when you told me that. And I heard you when you said that I should remain chaste. And honestly I have heard all I want to hear about that." She quieted a moment and then walked to him, sliding her arms around his waist. She buried her face in his chest and continued, "and I am scared. I am scared to death! I don't know how to be a wife, although the king insists that we strike while the iron is hot! I suppose I am already old, considered by some, and yet I do not feel old," she paused, "and I'm afraid." Sye looks up into Light's eyes, trembling with tears, "I'm afraid if I refuse that I will never again feel the way I felt when you held me that day at the lake." At this point, the tears streamed down her cheeks as if the tension of what she was feeling all this time since her uncertainty the first time they really touched...all of the tension was now released. Feeling the heat of Sye's head on his chest, her scent wafting up into his nostrils, he felt a heat welling up inside of him as he looked at the woman he had loved since he protected her that day outside the castle gates! The innocent child, so helpless and innocent... he swooped her up and took her to the pile of pillows in the corner of the room. Laying her down gently, he kissed her deeply and followed his passion's whims on what to do next. He took his shirt off and unstrapped his pants as he knelt above her, kissing her finally as he had only dreamed in the past. His head was swimming as they started to reach and caress each other. Surprised at his immediateness... relieved at his intent, but still frightened for them both, Sye's nerves took control, "I guess this is the other part of being a soldier... exploring new worlds?" She laughed nervously as Light removed his garments, knowing that this time, maybe this time. "Light easy..." she slowed him, partially because her fear at him becoming more and more aroused. His strength, his bare muscles, her own desires becoming apparent as her breaths matched his... she closed her eyes at his touch, his kiss, on her neck, on her lips, and when he reached the bare neckline of her gown she felt the heat come over her. "Oh Light... this...this is why I was trembling." Her heart beat quickened as she tried to contain her growing feelings which she did not yet understand. Still kissing her, Light unbuttoned the front of her gown exposing her to him. He kissed her under her mouth and worked down to her neck... to her now exposed breast. His heat becoming more and more unbearable as his hands explored more and more of her body under the gown. Feeling his hands on her... wishing her undergarments were scattered... she realized that there would be no way for him to pursue his pleasures unless she relinquished her resolve completely. But the fear of Light, the Wolf, weighed heavy on her heart. A wolf! The strongest of most animals... remembering the fire in his blue eyes, with her fingertips she raised his chin to see those eyes and saw it again. The Wolf... and it frightened her! Slightly, she pushed him away and sat up on the pillows. Still breathing heavily, they both sat to calm. Sliding her arm around his waist, she said, "You did nothing wrong, my love. It is my fear of the wolf that stopped me." She looked to him, with pleading eyes, "I feel your passion, your heat! I want... but the wolf..." Without a word, Light touched his finger to her lips and said, "The wolf won't harm you, my love, but drives my passion for you." Kissing her once again, he took her by the shoulders and raised her to her feet. Taking her gown to the floor, he spoke softly to comfort her. "This time, the wolf is here and he shall not disappoint," Light spoke to her decidedly as he looked into her eyes. Deeply, he claimed her in his kiss. He gently laid her back to the pillows, lapping and nipping at her breast and belly. Finally, their passions drove them to the pleasure they both sought and afterwards they slept in each others' arms. Photobucket Sye awoke with the first light of morning glistening on her face through the window. She turned and saw Light by her side, wrapped in a coverlet and nothing else. The realization of what took place made her feel that all was right with the world. Careful not to move to abruptly, she slid her arm over his waist, cuddling to him and there she fell asleep. Light opened his eyes slightly when he felt an arm reach for him. Remembering where he was and satisfied at the fact, he placed his arm around Sye and the two snuggled inside the coverlet as the morning sun warmed them both. A slight knock came at the door. "Sye...Sye, Aldo and Bear are looking for Light. They know he wasn't at their camp last night and are wandering around. It won't be long before they come here for something to eat," Red whispered. "Duty calls, my love," Sye whispered as she allowed him to slide from the pillows and reach for his clothes. She watched on, not wanting to move right away, and gazed at the man who was promised to be her husband. He dressed like lightning. Then he turned to her and blew her a kiss while tripping on his boots. He ran out the door and passed his sister who was giggling as he went tipping down the path towards his men. Red went back inside, still giggling as she went to their room. She saw Sye getting dressed. "Some breakfast, Sister?" Red giggled. Lady Sye stretched and yawned, looking at her with a satisfied smile. "And Light went down the hall tripping on his boots," Red giggled as she smiled at Sye. Sye said not a word, but the glow on her face told the story. "Are you hungry, Sister?" Red continued. "Yes," Sye answered quickly, "but not for sustenance!" She giggled, as she stood wrapped in nothing but the coverlet and walked to the window, watching Light shimmer to the black wolf and run off into the woods. "A good night then?" Red spoke up. Sye remained quiet once again, but smiled and answered, "Perhaps toast and a cool drink would help." Light fell into his tent when a voice from the corner said, "Where have you been? You know we have to get every thing packed up. Bear and Fox have dismissed the men so they can go to their families. Bear and Fox will join us at Red's for breakfast, then meet us at the king's castle in time for the official announcement of your marriage to Sye. You have no time to go off on your playful whims with the gnomes!" "Sorry Father, but there were circumstances beyond my control. I promise it won't happen again," Light said suspiciously. "Well see that it don't, Boy! Now let's go see what Red has cooking! I'm hungry!" Aldo said, and grinned at Light as they trudged back up the path, seeing the paw prints and knowing that his som had just come from there. Sye descended the stairs and went directly to the dining hall. "Red, how may I help?" she offered. "Help, m'Lady? Sit. I will serve you." Red answered. "The men shall be here soon and you need help with setting table as you prepare the meal, Sister. I am not royalty when I am here with family," Sye answered her back. As Red looked up at her, sye amiled and took the plates from her as Red turned and went back to her kitchen. Before long, the men entered complaining that they were hungry. Sye watched Light as he entered with his father. Bear and Fox came in a second afterwards. But the magnetism between the two lovers was unmistakeable to Aldo as he remembered the intimate glances he shared with Elaine in their younger years. Light glanced to Sye who was setting the table and smiled sheepishly. He sat down with Bear and Fox as she came over to serve them. When Aldo noticed, he said, "With all this smiling and blushing goin on here, you'd think someone could get something to eat!" Laughing heartily, Bear and Fox both took a seat and as they did, they slapped Light on the back knocking the drink from his hand. Red, from across the room, yelled, "It's coming, you old wolf!" Sye smiled and went with Red to get the food. "Do I blush too much?" Sye asked as they went back into the kitchen. She felt somewhat shy about the table chatter. "Just enough, Princess," Red said, calming her. "Young love is always new and flirtacious. It is just apparent that you both share the enthusiasm for your upcoming wedding." "Yes," Sye answered without going on, but the thought crossed her mind on how she will be at her father's castle... and no sweet solace to hide within there. As if reading her mind, Red said, "Not to worry, Sister. I'll be there for you as will your mother and mine to help and guide you. After we are finished with feeding these fine gentlemen, we'll get our riding gear together." Red's message was pleasing to hear, but that was not exactly what was on Sye's mind. For now that the fear of the wolf had been quenched, the fire of passion remained. The ladies ate and then went to dress for the trip. Sye dressed in her gear as a soldier, but Red donned the suit of a true rider. However, when the evil one was there before, his band of thieves stole their family's horses. Light's horses were made ready and Red looked to him questioningly as he mounted. Lady Sye emerged with her horse from the royal stables. Sye saw the immediate need and spoke up as Light began to apologize to his sister for not having an extra horse. "Not to worry, Sister. Take my horse for the trip. When we get to the castle, I will make sure that you receive another horse." Red and Light both looked at Sye wonderingly. The thought of sharing had not occured to either. "A hand," Sye looked at Light as he still was not paying attention to anything more than Red's dilemma. "Ahem, a hand, my prince?" Sye asked again, as Light reached down for her hand and pulled her to sit behind him. He blushed to feel her so close with his family right there. "Well if that doesn't make a pretty picture," Bear laughed. "Prince Light blushing and his blushing bride to be right behind!" All of the men laughed heartily as did Light. But Lady Sye cautioned him, "One word, and you are not wearing armor my prince. Think! For my hands are not far away from your area!" Light quieted at her comment and proceded to ride on to Cirane'. moonrise Startled, she jumped to her feet. But her sword was with her horse so she stood at a guarded stance. "What say you?" she answered him, not recognizing him. She reached for her belt sash and pulled from it a small dagger. "Sheri, it's me Luke," he said. "Don't you recognize me?" He reached for her but she stepped back and brought her dagger to bear on him. "You are one of those mercenaries from the pass back there!" she said. "Why have you sought me here? What is it that you want with me? I know nothing of this Sheri whom you seek! Be gone or I will kill you myself!" But Stacia did not scream when she could have. She kept a low voice and watched the stranger sternly for a wrong move. "Excuse me m'lady, you bear a striking resemblance to a girl I knew back home and seeing you there in the pass made me very homesick. Forgive me and I'll leave you." "No! Wait!" she called after him and came closer. "You also look familiar, but I do not understand all of this. My memory seems to be betraying me on all counts and I cannot imagine where I could have known you from as I have lived here all of my life." Luke offered her his hand and said, "Come and walk with me and maybe we can figure out what to do with your memories." Stacia walked with him, holding his hand and noticed how when they got a safe distance from the camp, he squeezed it just a little. Something was so familiar with this hand, and the squeeze, as if she had been here once before. She stopped and turned to look into his eyes and saw a memory fading there. Putting his hands on her hips and pulling her close to him, Luke kissed her deeply and let his hands slide from her hips to her bottom, caressing her and holding her close and tight. The woman in her responded without thinking and she slowly moved her arms to his back and held onto him as he started to guide her to the blanket of soft grass below them. But what Luke expected was not the way things were. For as Sheri, there was a mutual respect, a place to draw the line. But as this new Princess, she was a woman with desires and needs of her own. Stacia felt his hands moving from her bottom to her garments, so she assisted with his as well. Clutching his tunic to pull it over his shoulders, she felt his chest against hers and the arousal became even more intense. Between the two, it wasn't long before their clothing had been removed feverishly and all that was left was the line which had never before been crossed. While they paused momentarily from their heat, Stacia was the first to reach for him and found that he was ready to meet her with his own needs as well. Photobucket Stacia opened her eyes and became wary of what surrounded her, especially the arms which were holding her. The morning air was cold on her back, but the warmth in his arms was comforting. Still, she remembered the job at hand! Who was this man? The one who she allowed to get to her? The man who took her to the ultimate heights and now? She remembered where she had seen him. He was among the men on the pass; and while his papers were in order, they were searching for strangers! "Stranger!" she screamed to herself. Sliding from his arms and grabbing her clothes, she felt his grasp on her arm. "Where are you going?" Luke asked. "No after glow or nothing? Just running off? It couldn't have been that bad." As Luke grabbed their clothes and started to dress while watching her closely. "Bad?" she sneered with an evil tone to her voice. "No, not bad, but then I have had no other to compare. You, on the other hand, interest me. You have the muscles of an ox, but I do not see you as such, m'Lord!" Stacia fed his ego with elating mystic. "I see you as a bird, but not a bird! A creature swooping from the sky!!" Stacia giggled a little to reel his glances toward her whimsical fancy. "As if..." her voice trailed, "...as if you were??" Stacia looked to him to fill in the blank with the proper answer, waiting to see if he would give her the answer she sought. Looking at her and reeling with the praise his ego was feeding on, he knew what she was doing and he struggled with the thought of revealing himself to her. "A dragon perhaps," Luke said, knowing that as soon as he said, it he would regret it later. "A dragon," she repeated wistfully, allowing the thought to penetrate him that this revelation would feed his death. "Are you a dragon, m'Lord?" she questioned him playfully, as she saw him mezmerized by her eyes... all the while she dressed and stashed her dagger handy but out of sight. Photobucket Luke shook his head. "What have I done?" he said to himself as he finished dressing. "Yes a dragon," he said and with that he shimmered and lifted off the ground and began to fly for the rendezvous with Fox and Aldo... thinking to himself how he was going to be in such trouble with his uncle and grandfather for not listening to them. He was glad for the fact that his father wasn't here to see what had happened. Seeing that her suspicions were correct, she ran back to the camp and straight to her captain. "M'Lady!" he exclaimed. "We have been searching for you all night!" "No matter now! I have found the dragon which we seek!" she said excitedly. "He was among the men on the pass!" "Then we must go!" the captain said as he instructed several to take their horses and ready them for the ride. "A moment, m'Lady," he said, "As I notify the lieutenant." Stacia stood waiting as the captain went to the lieutenant's tent. "But what if she is setting us up?" asked the lieutenant. "She was gone all night! We simply thought she has escaped! Who knows if she spent the night with this soldier, perhaps they are conspiring." "I don't think so," admitted the captain. "She still had the distant look as she spoke to me." "Then we go," said the lieutenant, and they walked out of the tent. The captain gave several the command to remain and pack the tents and goods while they went on to search once again. "This time, there will be no mistakes!" he shouted, and mounted his horse and rode off. Photobucket
Photobucket "I'm too keyed to go inside and pack," Zira admitted. "Want to go somewhere else and just be alone, Buck?" Buck smiled and they shimmered as their wolves and took off running into the dusk. Zira instinctively ran to the river where she saw the two lovers. She sat back on her haunches and waited for Buck to settle. Then she shimmered to her woman form and sauntered into the river. The water was cooling to her and she felt the passion of desire coming over her as the waters touched her. Wondering, trying hard to remember any of the supposed "dream" from the night before, she hoped for her new mate to show her the way. She turned to look at Buck and sent him the message, the memory, of the lovers as she knew he had seen them as well. Looking at him, hoping he would follow her, she gave him a longing gaze from the river and waited. Buck looked around and checked to make sure that they were alone and no danger was near. Then he slowly walked into the river to Zira's side. He took her face in his hands and kissed her deeply, moving his hands from her face to her waist. He picked her up and held her above himself, smiling and gazing into her eyes as he brought her back down, holding her just so as her ample breasts were in front of his face. He found his way to her skin through a partially opened neckline on her tunic and took his pleasure as he kissed her skin softly, giving her little licks and nips to open the tunic further. Placing her back down in the water, his arms wrapped around her... their passion calmed until Zira looked into his eyes and opened her tunic completely, removing it with her under garments. Seeing her bared breasts and belly, Buck took off his shirt; and after taking her clothes from her, he launched them to the banks. Zira threw her arms around his neck and he lifted her again to have her belly close to his face. Then he cradled her and carried her to the shoreline where there were several bushes to give them privacy. Photobucket His temper was hot for his young princess, but he knew that to have them discovered by her family would not be wise. He found a patch of grassy area and laid her down. Then looking at her full of desire, he held her eyes spellbound. Her own vision of his naked chest and his flexing muscles filled her with fear yet ecstasy at the thought of him taking her. As innocent as a new bride, she waited for him to make the next move. He touched her gently, grabbing for her garments to remove them. In moments they were cast aside and her naked body stretched before him. Then he kissed her, starting at her belly and working his way down to her womanhood. Feeling her tense, he came up to look at her face and calmed his new love... for he was tender yet determined to show her his passion and to fuel her own. Kissing her softly, sliding his tongue into her mouth, he relaxed her and held her at a calm simmer while he placed his hands on her. His hand sliding to her belly and to her intimate area, he showed her his intent with his large hand between her folds. Once again he moved his kiss to there, holding her breasts and mouthing her womanhood. Lapping at her like the wolf he was, he could no longer control his desire and kneeled above her, removing his own pants and casting them to where hers laid. The cover of deep dusk blanketed them while he pursued her. This time she was fully aware of her being and she offered herself to him with tremble, but knew he would not hurt her intentionally. She spread her thighs around his and seeing him, shivered at the thought. But he calmed her once again with his kiss. Deeply, full of passion, his tongue slipped between her lips and found hers. Lovingly, he danced with her mouth as he drew closer to her softness and let it rest there. With one heated kiss and a bit of pressure, he penetrated the pleasure he so desired. She squirmed beneath him, and each time, his hands found her breasts and calmed her until she felt the passions of her woman. She relaxed more to his touch and moaned briefly for the newness of it. He was gentle but passionate and when he felt her response, he moved more quickly. Showing her where to touch him, he placed her hands on his waist and slid them down from there. His own hands roamed over her nakedness until he felt her relax and touching him in those special places that spurned his flame. In heated movements they reached their summit by the shore of the river. Finally, they became as one with each other and the wolf howl could be heard in their minds... the black wolf's daughter was now his. Settling their heartbeats, they held each other. Zira trembled at the thought of what just happened, while Buck sought to warm her from the oncoming chill of night. He held her close to him and when her tears began, he found her eyes and smiled into them. "There, there, my princess," Buck began smiling. "Now you know that you are a woman." He paused and continued, "My woman and yet my child. I will teach you all there is to know and we will love for a lifetime." Zira buried her face into his embrace as they laid on the grass. When they finally reached for their clothes, Buck could see by the moonlight that there was a trace of blood below them. "My love," he said, "this was your true first. Look," He showed her. "No matter what happened after your party, the act was not complete until now. This time, we knowingly gave each other the gift of passion." Zira cried and hugged him as he comforted her in knowing they would never be apart. They dressed each other and returned to the village where he took his post outside of her hut. And she slept.
