My husband and I retired from public sector careers in the Midwest in September of 2001. Right after that, September 11th happened and we looked at each other and said, "Life is too short and too uncertain; we need to follow our dreams". For over a decade we had wanted to move to California; so we did. We also knew that we needed to recareer to remain retired. Now we would like to share our experiences with others and to link people to resources on various retirement issues.

To do so we have created a blog: www.retired-and-ready.blogspot.com.

We also have investigated many potential home business opportunities; finding most to fall into three categories---the good, the bad and the ugly. We therefore created a website to promote the ones that fell into the good: www.home-business-for-retirees.com.

Our biggest block of time now is working on the development of mini-blogs and social media sites to promote our Affiliate Marketing efforts.  I'll let you know how that goes for us.

I am a Huge Fan of Squidoo and building different lenses that let me demonstrate my interests and passions and to promote my favorite affiliate products and services we have found to be part of the good category of the "good, bad and ugly" options that seem to crop up every day. As we are always seeking to improve our own conditions to remain in the retirement mode, we are actively participating in forums to mostly learn from others doing the same and also to share some of our "adventures" to date. We would love to hear from others in the same place.
