- More about me
-
Straight female, 5'2", Blonde and that is all I am going to give up in public *laughs* right now anyway.
Ok I am domestically challenged and to prove it yesterday I was boiling some eggs, got into something else and realized they were done when I heard them explode followed by the scent of scorch which set off the timer aka the smoke alarm... get the picture?;)
Good sense of humor, too.

- Favorite Charities
-
My children and grandchildren;) Freedom For Tibet. Charities that benefit American and Eastern European Children and Children in war torn countries. My favorite charities are those that I can do for my fellow man, I often will buy some inexpensive hamburgers when going downtown to a place known for its panhandling and give the food to them. I only hope that others will be moved by my example rather than the negative judgemental mantra I often hear "they'll only spend it on drink", perhaps this is so, perhaps not, but it takes a deep level of deperate despair to abandon all pride and beg on the street...
- Favorite Music
-
Classical, Opera and Ballet move my heart;) Piano, flute and violin are my favorites...violin music produces an ecstatic pleasure that evokes tears. Authentic Chants from many disciplines and traditional music indigenous to various cultures[not the horrid "new age" versions] I also love Rock: heavy, hard core, metal from the sixties & early 70's[good classics], 90's to the present, including punk and grunge. The 90's were a great time for such music and this decade has developed nicely particularly in the LA and European scene. Love Blues, Jazz and some R&B... I do not like glam, hairbands, soft rock, pop or anything along that line. I do not like most 80's bands... And i am very choosey about "southern rock", most of which is way too redneck for my tastes. Dislike most rap & country
- Favorite TV Shows
-
Don't watch much, and rarely watch a repeat, once is often enough. But when I do have the time I like Rome[ok I loved that one;)], Lost, ER, 4400, Supernatural, Weeds, Dexter, the Tudors, Mad TV, and documentaries on antiquities, archeology, art etc.ie History Channel, Discovery Channel I also like to catch an occasional comedian on Comedy Central, Mind of Mencia, in fact the only reality show I found somewhat entertaining and interesting was the one where the competing comedians have to live together*laughs* Occasionally South park and King of the Hill.
- Favorite Movies
-
Really don't have any favorite movies, but a lot I like a lot... I also have a thing for Horror and B Horror movies, often they are hilarious. Lately I have seen Six Weeks Later, Hostel 2 and 1408 were impressive and i may even buy a copy. I love Apocalypto, a beautiful film, and will buy a copy. I enjoy historical/archeolgical/antiquity action movies, ie orig Lion In Winter, and comedies are good too. I like some silliness in my life and if it is Robin Williams when he is good that is an added plus. I do not like "chick" flicks or romantic mushy films. I do not like porn because it does nothing for me, I find them boring.
- Favorite Books
-
Ah, now here is my forte and I have too many to list~the classics like Dumas, Poe, Twain, Wyeth, Dickens, Voltaire, DeSade for example, and the ancient classics such as Dante, the Bard, Goethe, Chaucer and Boccacio. Recently i embracing Steven Berry, he is a class act[what Dan Brown would like to be if he ever grows up and stops believing his own fiction]. Other contemporaries;T. Harris, S. King, R. Khoury and one of my favorites whose "retro" style and love of books hooked me, John Dunning. I love poetry but I m very choosey about it and most poetry I do not like, I like epic poetry, dark poetry expressive sexually charged poetry... for example one of my most favorite ~Baudelaire~, and then there is Whitman, Poe, Shelley, Frost, Gibran, Wilde, Khayam, Yeats, Bardetc, ancient poetry

My dog Petra, a rescued black lab born April Fool's day 2001 who chose me as her pet when she was eight weeks old. When she transitions I won't have anymore pets, I am on the move way too much. Snakes, the non poisonous variety but would never own one because of what they eat;) I like cats, both big and small, beautiful animals but won't own one because I don't like animals in the house and it is too perilous for them to be outside. Horses are a close tie with dogs and snakes as my favorite pets. At one time when I was young it seemed I spent more time on horseback then off. I like a lot of different animals, I had a raccon and an owl friend for many years. Fish are beautiful, and make for good eating;) Rabbits, ferrets and squirrels are great. I am afraid of/repulsed/by mice/rats
