Places I've been

I am not from Smiley, Texas. :) I've lived in San Antonio since 1988...but, I have not been able to change this! Travel is an interest because I'm adventurous, spontaneous, and love to learn new things. I've been all over Europe with my most recent visit to Italy (Rome, Venice, and Florence), and a cruise to some of the Greek Islands, all last summer. Love warm locations for vacation...so, I'm a frequent visitor to Hawaii. Alaska (in the summer), Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Dubai...just a lot of great travel experiences.

Dynamite comes in small packages! I am adventurous, spontaneous, and love being retired...twice! Live to learn, and learn to live...is sort of my plan. Trying new things, meeting new people, exploring new places...all part of life and learning. While I am petite, I am not fragile. I enjoy the outdoors (but that doesn't mean I want to camp on the beach again!), and I am equally indulgent when it comes to dressing to the nines. :) Everything can be fun...it's a matter of attitude!

Activities

Dancing (ballroom and country/western) tops my list. I've spent countless hours learning techniques, and just have a great time. If you have takenn lessons, you know what I mean! And if you just love to dance, you also understand. I am also passionate about traveling, and I've done a lot, and plan to do more! I've been to some out-of-the-way places (Oman, Dubai, EAE), and all over Europe (London, Copenhagen, Paris, Venice, Rome, etc.)...with many trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. I don't have any grandchildren (yet!), but my only child is marrying next summer. :) I enjoy staying fit...riding bicycles, jogging, swimming, golf (I'm bad!!!). I am a fasionista (in hiking boots or a ballgown), so yes, I'll admit, I participate in recreational shopping! I also enjoy helping others (volunteer work teaching reading, or donating my time and money where I think there is a need and I can make a difference.) I love the beach, the water, and a great palm tree!...for just the sheer joy of feeling the sunshine, hearing the water, and enjoying the view! I love Christmas! I like to explore off-the-beaten path when I travel. Love the smell of freshly laundered sheets! And I love to read. Ok...that's plenty, I think. :)

Favorite Music

Favortie Song: Lost in the Fifties Tonight. "Vintage" 50s, 60s, and 70s...almost any group. I wasn't a Beatle's fan until after they disbanded. I know, I know. I also enjoy C&W contemporary music, (tied to dancing), and big band (for ballroom.) I can't imagine life without music and dance!

Favorite TV Shows

I enjoy watching "some" TV...the Discovery Channel; Dancing with the Stars (I know...but, it's dance!), and Desperate Housewives. But, I'm not a TV officianado.

Favorite Movies

Gone With the Wind; Pretty Woman; One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Favorite Books

I enjoy reading just about anything! Periodicals, on-line news, any adventure, mystery novel. But, my favorite reading memories, and therefore, books, are those associated with reading to my son: The Pokey Puppy, The Giving Tree, come to mind right away...there were many.
