About

Relationship
Single. Interested in meeting men for dating and meeting men for a serious relationship and meeting people for friendship and meeting people for networking
Hometown
Although I was born in Minnesota, I didn't grow up there. We moved every two years due to my father's job. The longest we ever stayed in one place was six years in Seattle. That city, and Miami, are my home towns.
Places I've been
High School Name (City, State)
I attended Cleveland High in Seattle from ninth grade through the fall of my senior year. My parents and I then moved to Poplar Bluff, MO as my father was transferred there.
College Name
University of Missouri, Columbia, MO University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL
College Graduation Year
BA from Mizzou-1969 Masters from Mizzou-1971 Masters from U of M-1991
College Graduation Major/Concentration
After graduating from Poplar Bluff High, I attended Mizzou where I earned a BA in English and a Masters in education specializing in remedial reading. I also have a Masters from UM in elementary education.
Occupation(s)
I've been involved in teaching since 1971 working as a reading specialist, private tutor, fourth grade teacher, and math teacher for fifth and sixth grade students. Yes, I know. I'm an English major teaching math. Go figure. This year I'm taking a breather from full time work. I've been subbing at a couple of private middle schools and love that age group while continuing to work as a private tutor. I may go back to full time teaching in some capacity or change career directions.
More about me

March 2007.  Turned 60 this past January. It doesn't seem as ancient as when our parents did it. In fact, I find the passing of the decades to be liberating. Kids, 3, are grown and on their own. Grandchildren, 3 are almost grown. Family, good friends, fun, and living in the warm climate of South Florida--it's all good. Life's journey has been a wonderous adventure. I can't wait to see what happens next.

August, 2008.  Went to Alaska with the eons group.  What a wonderful experience.  Now I'm actually looking forward to work--a long term sub job for a teacher on maternity leave.  Ask me if I still feel this way after a couple of weeks back on the job!

October, 2008.  OK, ask me!  It's been fun but tiring.  I'm looking forward to freedom in the future.  Too bad the economy is tanking.  Where are leaders who can tell us we have nothing to fear but fear itself?  Panic has set in among the greedy b*st*rds who set this in motion.  Too bad if they have to give up the vacation villa.

December 6, 2008  Mom has gone to join Dad.  I picture them dancing together as they had so often in life.

September, 2009  Back at work--full time sub position again for a different teacher on maternity leave.  Having a good time working with my former team.

November, 2009.  Four more weeks of teaching at this job.  I'm missing it already.  Inspite of all the CF's I love being back there. If teachers could just teach, we'd all be better off, but there are so many other demand of the job, even in private school.  Guess that's not going to change.  We expect schools to fix all the things that are broken about our society.  Ain't going to happen unless we get a grip and demand personal responsibility.

I don't have much yard. I was happy to find a house with a smallish lot. Enough space in the back for More
