History

Places I've been
Grants New Mexico (Hometown), There are not many places that I would consider that important in my life, but those worth noting would be:

Brookfield Missouri, from what I was told I was born out on the farm and was taken to the hospital later.

Glenaire Missouri, this is where my mother lives so that would be important.

Hays Kansas, home to Fort Hays State University. When looking at colleges before deciding where to go to school, this was the only school that I felt like a person instead of a number.

Vancouver, BC, Canada, what more could I say about the area. I was invited to be the best man at a wedding/hand-fasting ceremony

Manitou Springs Colorado, when I left home this is where I first lived. The sidewalk penny arcades and how close everything seemed to be made life easier.

Bust Colorado, I was there the day the State of Colorado made this little berg a full blown town.

Divide Colorado, the lady who wanted me to stay there with her before I left the state for 20 years.

Grants New Mexico, the first place I had some offers that I did not know how to handle.

Budville New Mexico, Bud taught me a lot of things about New Mexico to respect and know. I still treasure the one Thanksgiving dinner with some of the Native Americans and was able to learn a little bit about their way of life.

Wellington Lake Colorado, one of the areas that I have setup a summer home so to speak.

Wilson Kansas, there is a lake there where it was the first time I shed a lot of hang-ups as well as skinny dipping.

I know that I can add more areas and will do that in time, but that is what I can think of at the present time.

About Me

Holy Smoke I really lived past 50!

My life has been one odd twist after another.  Once I graduated from high school, I did a year in college before the time that I kept putting off caught up with me.

I spent time in the Army, mostly stateside except for a trip to a land where you could not trust your own shadow.  Having lived through that and following a bridge collapsing underneath me,

I got out of the service with my sanity not fully attached.I spent a year drunk not knowing where I had been or what I had done except that I did not admit I was ever in the service.  After knocking around another two years doing a little bit of nothing and living with whom ever she was I started college.

Three years later I had my degree and ended up running the family business, a nursery.  I always had an interest in herbs and while working the business by day I studied herbal medicines and herbal gardening by night when I was not finding a party of some sort.

That part lasted until 1996 when I finally moved back home to Colorado.  First I lived mainly out of a trailer up in the high country with my little dog, moved down into the big city of Thornton found a decent job.  That started my decline so to speak, in the short time I have lived out here I have had open-heart surgery at 45, been involved in two major automobile collisions (neither one my fault for I was sitting still), been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, CFS, and something else to do with my hip.  As well as getting a Master's Degree in Computers along with starting to work on a Ph.D.

Along with a few other mishaps over the years (getting shot, two other auto accidents-I am starting to think there may be a bulls-eye on my vehicles, chainsaw to my foot-got only a piece of skin, a small hole developed in the leg and lost part of my muscle, and a few assorted injuries) some how, some way I still look at the brighter side of things.

After having a little bit of nothing when I started the new century I have built very quickly, a home, a life, and as long as I keep my body in one piece my sanity.  Having a sense of humor helps out, and I can not wait to get back to work once the doctor releases me...again!

Short add-on (7/16/2007) being left handed, dyslexic, and wear glasses no wonder I have a tough time spelling. J
