Widowed in 2006, I'm learning to go on with life. After all, what choice do I have? :D I live in Florida. I have no children, unless you consider my two chihuahuas and two cats as children as I often do.

Since I've decided that my life is changing, I needed to change my name here, too. So, I am now SkyBluePink. There are many meanings to this: the sky's the limit in this new life of mine, blue skies mean good weather, and at sunset, there often is a touch of pink in the clouds and sky. I love the color blue, but I am a girl, so pink is also a part of who and what I am.  

One of the hardest things I've learned over the last few years is to be nice to myself. So, I'm learning to pamper myself a bit more by doing nice things for me and my environment. 

I'm still working but looking forward to retirement in a few years.  Retirement is looking better and better everyday and I can't wait to experience it.

I enjoy amusement parks, county and state fairs, movies, and travel. I'm not much of a gambler, but I'm not averse to visiting casinos on occassion. I plan to tour the western US one day. We have a beautiful country and I'd like to see more of it after I retire.

I tend to be optimistic and upbeat. I enjoy being around people who are also optimistic and upbeat. We all have our moments, but I try to avoid negative personalities. Why spend life around people we don't like being with and who can't or won't enjoy the sunny side of life?

Favorite Movies

Harry Potter, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Bishop's Wife, Fried Green Tomatoes, and so many more I can't remember! Ok...a lot of chick flicks, but I'm a chick! What can I say? :D Any movie that will make me laugh, or let me suspend reality for a bit has my vote!

Activities

I'm interested in Tai Chi - looking for a class that fits my work schedule. I'll try nearly anything at least once, but no skydiving and no bungee jumping! I have been known to jump to conclusions, but I prefer to keep my feet on something solid! :D

Favorite Music

Mostly country, but Big Band, pop, soft/lite rock; music from the 40's, 50's, 60', and 70's are all good, the old church favorites, and yes, even some classical.

Favorite TV Shows

Depends on my mood at the moment: but I watch some "reality" shows such as Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted; sitcoms like Friends, Frasier, Will & Grace (looking for something new now that they are off the air), Two and a Half Men, Good Eats; others I can't think of right now.

Favorite Books

Cozy mysteries and self-help books. What a difference, huh? And I can't forget The Fair Tax book by Neal Boortz and Rep John Linder.

Mostly...whomever I'm with at the moment.

I have to give this one some thought. My favorite place has to be with people I like and doing things I enjoy doing. Wherever that might be.

My two Chihuahuas, Wyatt and Buck; my two cats, Dollie and Oliver; and most other animals right behind. Snakes, while they have their place in the Grand Design, are at the bottom of the list along with spiders.
