I was born in Glasgow into a deeply religious cult and after being disowned and disinherited, I lived in several places in Scotland and England.

For 35 years, I was involved in local, regional, national politics - and to a lesser extent - the European Parliament - as a member of the Liberal Democrat Party.

I now live in a town called Maidenhead which was known as "The Jewel of the Thames" in its heyday.  It is 30 miles west of London, 30 miles from Oxford and 5 miles from Windsor Castle.

I anticipate my next move will be in a casket - feet first out the door.

I have two daughters and one grandson.

I'm an equal opportunity listener. I like darn near anything except Country Music and Rap. My favourites are Mozart in particular, Chopin, Jazz, folk and Rock.

Favorite Movies

"Deliverance", "Once upon a time in the West" directed by Sergio Leone as were the "Western Trilogy", but #1 of all movies in my opinion was "12 Angry Men".

Favorite Books

Too many to mention. Kidnapped, Treasure Island, Three Men in a Boat... Also, autobiographies of people I know personally or have met, even briefly.

Ones that stay out of my way.
