Places I've been: Attended the University of Wisconsin, BA - Humanities, MA - Philosophy. Now work as a adjunct faculty member part-time teaching Western Civilization, Critical Thinking, and this and that. Also maintain a vocation as a full-time skeptic. Have traveled to most states at one time or another with the exception of two or three. Most of my journeys have been what some call the inner kind. Thus far I have always come back - reluctantly in some cases - happily in others.
More about me: I don't have any children or pets other than a Guinea Hen that comes to visit most days. Not a fan of crowds, noise, rituals, or traffic congestion. I don't have any tatoos or jewelry & hope to go out of this world with the same number of holes I came into it with.

Interested in environmental issues and sustainable living. I live on a former farm and spend a lot of time outdoors whether it's taking pictures, cutting brush, cutting firewood, planting trees, gardening, hunting, camping, backpacking, or just wandering about.

Every summer I head westward from my home in northcentral Wisconsin to some of the western states, usually Wyoming for some camping and backpacking. If you live somewhere near this route, let me know if you are interested in visiting in person. This summer of 2009 I drove to California and did some volunteer trail work on Mount Whitney and climbed Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48 states on a day off. In early September I went to Wyoming and climbed Bomber Mountain in the Big Horn Mountains. Now I am preparing for winter.
Favorite TV Shows: Lost, CSI, MASH, Seinfield, Science Fiction stuff.
Activities: Camping, backpacking, hiking, some hunting, lying in the shade on a hot summer day. Reading and thinking.

Favorite Books: The Night Country by Loren Eiseley, many others.
