I was born in Clarksville and grew up in the Arkansas Ozarks. I graduated from Lamar High School in 1969, and then went to business college in Little Rock, Arkansas until I met and married my husband, who was in the military. We were stationed at RAF Lakenheath in England from 1973 through 1976. While there, I visited London, Bury St. Edmonds, Norfolk, Thetford, Windsor Park, Cambridge, Woburn Abbey and the safari park, and Aldeburg on Sea. I lived in Mildenhall Village and Brandon Town. I also visited Calais, France, by crossing the English Channel from Dover. It is a beautiful sight to see the White Cliffs from the channel. I was In Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana from 1976 until 1981 at Barksdale AFB and returned to Arkansas, where I had home and family, to get my divorce and raise my children. I have lived here ever since. My work has required travel on many occasions, so I have visited a few major cities, Atlanta, Dallas (many times), San Antonio, Kansas City, and military bases: Fort Sill, Ft Hood, Sheppard AFB, Lackland, Ft Sam Houston and of course Little Rock . I have visited South Dakota several times because that is where my family originally homesteaded in the early 1900's and we have family reunions on a regular basis. I've also visited family in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missiouri, Minnesota, Iowa and Florida. I have a sister living in California and have never made it out there, so maybe that will be a destination after I retire. <<div class="wfbutton">

First of all, Thanks for stopping by! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO SIGN MY GUEST BOOK BELOW ...... would like to hear from people all over the country. I have two fine sons who I am very proud of. My oldest has served in the military for 17 years and has been in Bosnia and Iraq. He spent many years in Alaska and loves it there, but is now in New Mexico.
My youngest son, works full time, while finishing college, which should be in about a year. He went to the University of Arkansas until he became ill and had to move home. He was a member of the Marching Razorbacks and had lots of fun going to all the games.
As for me personally, I am now officially retired from a 30 year career with the goverment. I grew up in the country on a small farm in the Arkansas Ozarks. As a child, I spent a lot of time just wandering around the woods, fishing in our pond, picking blackberries and muscadines, avoiding snakes (lol) and pretending to be an archeologist! I love nature and like to go walking or driving in scenic areas. I also like to read, go to antique stores, craft shows and flea markets just browsing. I am an amature geneaologist and have traced several lines of my family one of which I have made a family connection that goes back to Charlemagne. I am looking forward to slowing down now that I am retired, but still plan to look for work part time to keep my self busy.
