More about me

I’m interested in everything ... excited about learning... a ravenous reader... a thoughtful conversationalist / debater...a terrific cook (garlic, feta cheese, basil, tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar over pasta – my favorite meal) ... a wicked sense of humor... a jack-leg historian...a fearless and honest spirit... a huge working vocabulary... a steadfast, all-weather and fiercely loyal friend... really intelligent... physically attractive... age-appropriately stylish... love free-weights (don't do it anymore but still love it)... eating healthy but flavorfully ... walking and more.

I'm a childless mother and a motherless child; a retired television broadcaster; an independent contractor for marketing support specialties, communication skills training and television production support, and a part-time bookseller at a bookstore with really super employee discounts.

My loved 65-lb. gorgeous Siberian Husky, Nahjee, with the ice blue eyes and the over-the-top personality died July 25, '09 of congestive heart failure.  This was my son's beloved dog. My son left her to me in 2002.  Nahjee was 12 when she left here.   She'd been ailing all spring; back and forth to the vet; shots, chest drained, medicines, but it was a terminal diagnosis.  She lived in the family room with at-will access to the patio and the 1/3 acre fenced in backyard with pine trees, scrub, knooks and crannies.  She'd stopped eating; drinking only water with ice cubes in it.  She never laid down, only maintained what I call her "Rin-Tin-Tin" pose, paws crossed, head high.  Broke my heart that all the little furry critters in the back yard now acted boldly, sashaying across the driveway and yard like they owned the place. In her hey day, NO little furry creatures or feathered ones were allowed.  She wouldn't have it.  And no strangers on the street, in the neighbors yard, certainly not in ours  without her boldly announcing their presence. Saturday afternoon, after a morning of very labored breathing and no eating, Nahjee lay down on the patio, put her head down, and died.    The yard and family room now feel huge, empty and lonely.  I now have to lock all my back doors and windows. I miss her.  This is not a good time.
