Places I've been

As a child I visited many places, my favorite was the Big Thompson Canyon in Colorado, but I also enjoyed the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion Canyons, Mt. Rushmore, Stone Mountain, Cape Cod, visiting relatives near Tulsa, OK, the list could go on and on. In 1974 I moved to Gulfport, MS and lived there six months with my then Seabee (Navy) husband. I remarried in 2004 and honeymooned near Bodega Bay, CA just north of San Francisco. Since then travels have taken me to the LA - San Diego CA area, Las Vegas, Georgia, and in July will go to Disney World in Florida with my family.

More about me

About me is always the hardest subject... what can I tell someone about myself that they will find interesting? Here's my first attempt:

 I'm 52 years old, married to a very sweet man who moved to my hometown from southern California. I have three beautiful children from a previous marriage - two girls and a boy and he has three beautiful children from a previous marriage - two girls and a boy.  I have five grandchildren - one boy and four girls and he has one grandson and another to be born in September 08.

 We live in rural Iowa where I was born and raised. We enjoy working the land and sharing our music.  My music is more country/folk while his is old rock and roll, but we find much enjoyment in exploring new sounds.

For pleasure I play the mountain dulcimer, work in the yard, read, and (when I find time) do needlework or crochet.

I am a secretary in a small office - many times it's just me in the building which sometimes gets boring, but other times is a pleasure allowing for time to get much work done without interruption.

 I hope to get to know many new people here. In my younger days I had many snail mail penpals, today, I'm hoping to renew correspondences at this website.

Favorite Charities

A local mission place called "God's Way". They have a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, food pantry, clothing room, they help people in every way possible.

Country, folk, oldies, most all

Favorite TV Shows

I don't watch much tv. My husband likes IRON CHEF on Sunday nights and I watch it with him sometimes.

Favorite Movies

Sorry, don't watch many movies either. I did enjoy a couple of the Harry Potter ones.

Favorite Books

The books I like best are historical romances, mystery, and up-building.

My family - husband, children, and grandchildren.

My home, Las Vegas where two of my step-children live and California where my in-laws live.

Favorite Animals

Our dog "Angel", the dog we are dog sitting for my daughter "Harley" and our cat "Precious". As for wild animals I like turtles and (don't let my husband hear me saying this) deer.
