    About Me

I graduated from a small town high school in Oklahoma, tried college but spent too much time in the "Buckin'" Pens (I rode Bareback Bronco's on the College Rodeo Team), So I joined the US Navy at 18.  Went to San Diego & San Francisco for Advanced Electronics - its a big city compared to where I grew up and I spent too much time in town and too little studying.  Since that wasn't working out too well I volunteered for Vietnam and spent 1969-1971 in-country having the time of my life.  I visited such vacation spots as Dong Tam, Long Xuyen, Tan Chau, An Long, and other exotic places along the Mekong River and traveled to Song On Doc, Rach Gia, and Cambodia. I came back to the "world" and  married a "home town" girl, which didn't work out too well, and after 3 kids we parted ways.  I loved the Navy, it was great to me, with a lots of new experiences and opportunities to be taken advantage of.   I served on the 1969-71 USS Satyr (ARL-23) RVN, 1971-72 USS Wasp (CVS-18) at Quonset Point RI, and 1972-73 USS Putnam (DD-757) at New Orleans, LA, as a Gunners Mate - Guns.

In 1973 I went to Memphis TN for AV "A" School to be an Aviation Electronics Technician.  1974-77 stationed at HS-85 was an LSE, and Special Missions Aircrew on SH-3. & VAQ-308 NAS Alameda.

1978 I was again back in Memphis for AVIC-7 School, then down to New Orleans LA. was a P-3 Aircrew/FCO with VP-5056 & VP-94 and Avionics Instructor for NAS New Orleans, Belle Chasse, LA.

I married to a great lady in Jan 79, and was blessed with a daughter that December (Mardi Gras was Great).

I was hired out of the Navy in 1981 by Telex Computer Products.  We lived in CA, CO & OK.

1990 Operation Desert Shield & Storm found me in Bitburg Germany with VR-59 as Operations LPO.  Came back to the US only to find out that I was unemployed, but I finally found work and moved to Roseville, CA.  The Elections came and the Clintons were in office and again I was unemployed.

1994 we moved back to Colorado, got a job with TCI of Colo.(AT&T), Amoco, Boston Market and Texaco & IBM Global Services.  After Texaco closed I worked for a while at Coors Bottleing in Golden, CO.  Went to work for the Colorado Dept of Corrections (Division of Youth), as an Instructor and Network Administrator.

I received an offer in 2003 that I couldn't refuse and we moved to Gainesville, TX for a growing Oil & Gas Company.  It was a great opportunity and I learned a lot, but we moved back to CO in 2005.

Over the years, I've got some good kids and some "Great" Grand Children (7).  Each one is an individual, and doing well.

My Basic Outlook is as follows:

"If you can Dream it - It can be done" - Walt Disney

My life is not a journey to the grave arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but to slide in broadside, totally used up, worn out, and proclaim, WOW!!! What a ride!!

Life is a journey....NOT a guided tour... "IN GOD WE TRUST"

"The greatest discovery of this generation is that a human being can alter their life by altering their attitude."
