Lived in: Brunswick, Bath, Freeport, South Portland, West Newfield, Windham, Yarmouth, currently in Portland--all in Maine; Tipton, TN; Haverhill, MA; Raymond, NH; Gainesville, FL. I visited Washington State in 1977, by Greyhound bus across northern tier states. (Don't care for buses much anymore!)

- More about me
-
I'm a native Mainer, medically retired, mother of a beautiful 30-something young woman and adoring grandmother to an amazing 5-year old girl.
I worked in banking, accounting, office management positions from high school graduation (1967) until I burned out on numbers in the mid-80s. I returned to college where I fell in love with English literature, receiving my B.A. in '91. In '92 I started graduate work at the University of Florida in Gainesville where my specialty area was 18th-century British women novelists. I never worked so hard in my life and I never loved what I was doing so completely.
A laundry list of auto-immune disorders began to appear in 1994 and almost overnight I lost school and all the dreams and the future it promised. I managed to hang in and finish my M.A. portion of the program--by sheer force of will and the help of several caring and compassionate friends and members of the UF English Dept. faculty.
I moved home to Maine at the end of 1996 to start another leg of the journey. The physical challenges of rheumatoid arthritis and several other interesting auto-immune syndromes have drastically altered my way of life. I've become a Moseyer who appreciates the slower-lanes of life.
I value the spending of time and giving of self over spending money and giving material things today. As hard as reality can be, I deeply believe that the ugliest truth is far better than the prettiest lie. I've learned that whatever psychic-wounds I choose not to acknowledge and heal will continue to harm all those whose lives I touch. And touching other lives in positive ways has become the most meaningful purpose of this earthly journey for me.

"Good judgment comes from experience; experience comes from bad judgment." Anon.
