I grew up in White Plains, NY, have traveled extensively around New York state, visited Pennsylvania often, as well as Washington, D.C., Canada and California. I lived in San Francisco for one year, and currently live in Florida, where I have been living for the past 22 years. My favorite places, other than Florida, are Lake George, NY, Ticonderoga, NY, Niagara Falls (Canadian side), and Balboa Island, CA.

I'm a 53-year-old mother and housewife.  My children are 21, 19 and 17.  I have a Master's Degree in music, and give private lessons in piano, guitar, voice, music theory and ear training.  I'm also a writer, and love to crochet.  Over the years I have raised (in addition to the kids), 12 guinea pigs, 5 fish, 24 mice, 2 cats, an assortment of hermit crabs, 1 dog and 1 husband.  Currently, 2 of the children and the husband live at home with the two cats and our German Shepherd puppy.  I'm tired a lot.  I have a brother who is four years younger than I, and my mom is still alive and well, and is living in Connecticut, as are my brother and his family.  I write poetry for an on-line card company and play the keyboard at my church as a member of the praise and worship team, with which I also sing.  I smoked for 30 years, but quit 6 years ago, gained like 800 pounds, and am now a vegan.  I love Florida and actually enjoy the heat and humidity.  My children are convinced I was a lab experiment gone terribly wrong.  I'm not sure how that fits in with their theory that I'm older than the dinosaurs, but hey - they're young and know everything, so who am I to question their conclusions?  Right.  I've worked as a legal secretary, a medical transcriptionist, and in various other secretarial jobs as a full-time temp.  All that was way easier than being a mom, but I wouldn't trade the whole motherhood thing for all the good nights' sleep, all the freedom to do as I like, or all the wealth, fame and slenderness in the world.  Between God and my children, I guess I'm about as happy a person as I can be.  There's a lot more, but I never liked the idea of being a human tranquilizer.  If you've read this far, however, I thank you.
