More about me

I am a retired educator who has lived and worked in North Carolina for over 30 years.  Recently we retired to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and live near our two grown children and six small grandchildren. 

After retirement we traveled to Hawaii for 2 months, but then called the kids just before Christmas and told them we had found an apartment and were staying for another three months!!  What a wonderful trip that was!!

I grew up on a farm in Ohio and married a wonderful guy from Boston!!  Boy, has that been an interesting combination.  We have been married for 39 years, and he is a remarkable friend, father, husband, and companion.  We only dated for three months.....who would have guessed!!

He nourishes my soul and mind. He is a wonderful friend, and father: my absolute hero. He is a kind loving man who lives each day just doing what is right....one small act at the time. He is the love of my life.

I've been a counselor and teacher, parent and grandparent. I'm interested in travel, vacation rentals, American-Japanese Foundation Teacher Exchange Program, Fullbright-Hayes Teacher exchange program, home exchanges.

Blissfully retired: Now I can devote more of my time to my family....my dear husband, my 87 year old mother, two brothers, one big sister, our children, and grandchildren. We are fortunate to be blessed with this loving family

Activities

FAMILY FIRST!! Relaxing on the beach, Exercise, biking, Classical music, nutrition, more travel, hiking, new cultures, religion, meditation, caregiving, did I mention travel? natural healing, reading, philosophy, swimming, investing, gardening and possibly living abroad.
