Hello all you wonderful people!

I guess you  need to know a little about me and my life to understand how I got where I am. 

First, I was born in Superior, Wisconsin on a nice spring day right at Easter.  My mother was a housekeeper and my dad was a railroader (this gives you a clue as to how I got where I am).  We suffered through many transfers, some only for about 6 months, which drove my mother wild.  Places where we were located included: Duluth, Minnesota; Minot, North Dakota; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Cleveland, Ohio; Buffalo; New York; Los Angeles, California (we actually lived in Whittier); and back to Minot, North Dakota.  By this time I have actually finished high school and 4 years of college with a degree in History.  Now it is time to start my own moves.

I went back to Superior, Wisconsin to the University of Wisconsin to get a degree in Guidance and Counseling...this really made my mother and grandmother mad.  In the meantime, I am working in Duluth, Minnesota as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (a clue in what I loved to do) until I graduated with a MSE in Guidance and Counseling (by now my mother has gotten used to it and decided I made the right move).  I worked in Wisconsin for about 2 years and then was asked to come back to Minot, Noorth Dakota to work in a sheltered  workshop as a counselor/vocational rehabilitation contact person (I worked my way through undergraduate school at this same workshop.  I stayed on here so that the workshop could buy the building they occupied from the railroad for $1.00.  Here is where I got off on my own and drive my dad nuts!  I was tired of being screwed over by the workshop and decided to move to Florida to find a counseling job.  I did have friends in Gainesville who let me stay with them until I got a job.  My father passed away so I came home for the funeral and took my mother bak to Florida with me.  We all did the tourist bit then for a while until I put my mother on a plane to Minot. 

I did find a job as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in Arcadia, Florida...I worked here until I had to retire because I was going blind and had other health issues that got worse (I had them all my life).  I went back to Gainesville with my friends for a short time and then went out on my own again.  I met my husband and 2 1/2 years later my wonderful son suprised us on Valentine's Day.  Eventually, I divorced my abusive husband and went out on my own again. 

I ended up back here in Minot, North Dakota in 1992 as a result of still being abused by my husband.  I have been on my own here since then and took up wiriting poetry. 

I am legaly blind and legally blonde!  Yes, I get to deal with all those blonde jokes that I love so well.  Throw a few at me if you would like.

Dogs...I am allergic to all animals so can't have one now.

I have not seen a movie since Mrs. Doubtfire and I had to leave the theater then because I had a dangerous reaction to the popcorn odor and ingesting some. I am allergic to corn and all corn products. I like Sound of Music, Song of Norway, South Pacific, King and I, Mary Poppins, the Peter Pan starring Mary Martin, Brigadoon, and all the old Hollywood Classics with the big productions like Can Can (I did see part of this being filmed on a visit to the studio).

Favorite Music

Gospel, Jazz, Classical, Celtic, Rock and Roll, Show tunes, Daniel O'Donnel, and country.

Favorite TV Shows

The Today Show, Dancing With The Stars (I dance while they are too), Jeopardy and cooking and home decorating shows.
