I attended college hmmmm and few years ago now, LOL! and majored in Art Ed.  Used that degree to teach art for 9 years to students 4 -12 grades.  Had fun and loved it but didn't like to have to discipline the kids.  So I changed jobs and went into Corporate America where I have been for 18 years.  In the meantime I have kept my hand in my art by local studio involvement, teaching wheel classes,  making my own art in my teeny tiny walk in closet studio in my condo.  (Where there is a will there is a way)

Now I am moving to Florida to get married to a wonderful man I met online 2 years ago.  I am in the final stages of packing and selling my home. 

I am hoping to purchase a home out there with plenty of space for a wonderful two car garage studio!  Complete with Kiln and all.  My studio is called "The Watermelon Workshop" and I can't wait to decorate with all my collected  pieces and things.  I hope to be able to give lessons in my home and make my own work to sell. 

I make functional pottery, and jewelry.  I have had opportunity to work with Raku in a studio locally and hope I will find a place to do raku again in FL.  I love the process, so immediate for the impatient person in me. 

My work is generally very textured since I love making my own stamps and tends to lean toward the whimsical side of things. 

I want to learn more technical processes since I will have my own kiln and have more control (finally!!) over the process.  Looking forward to learnign from you and all sharing what I know.
