About LivingWithPAD

Welcome to Living With P.A.D., an HQ developed by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the P.A.D Coalition as part of the Stay in Circulation: Take Steps to Learn about P.A.D. campaign.

Peripheral Arterial Disease (P.A.D.) affects 8 to 12 million people in the United States, yet few people who have P.A.D. are aware of it. If you smoke or used to smoke; have diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol; or have a history of vascular disease, heart attack, or stroke, talk to your doctor about your risk for P.A.D.

To learn more about P.A.D and the questions you should ask your doctor, go to www.aboutpad.org.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with P.A.D, or you just want to learn more, please participate in the Peripheral Arterial Disease Group.

  • I have had PAD by pass surgery on both legs and my Father had 3 and was on the way to a 4th in 1988. Being aware is important, knowing my symptoms is important to me and I have a 45% block in the rt carotid. My family gave me such wonderful things.
