I have lived in ND since 1970 I currently live by a lake in Metigoshe, ND area. I enjoy relaxing at Surfside Beach, SC I have lived in the Phillipines' and while there visited Bangkok and Hong Kong. In addition, I have visited England. Because of my close proximty to Canada, I visit Brandon and Winnepeg occasionly. I love the warm weather and the sea breeze. I enjoy the beaches of FL, SC, and TX. I have been to Albany, NY and to Boston. I would like to spend more time in New England and explore many of the historical sites. In addition, I have never been to Mexico and I would like to go there. I have heard you can never go home again but I would LOVE to spend winter months on the beaches of SC. However, the rentals I have checked on are sooooo expensive. My husband and I have rented an ocean front condo, that is also pet friendly at South Padre Island, Texas and we both like Texas coast and the winter Texans.

I was born Linda Noel Blackston in Lancaster, SC.
I have lived the the most of my life, since 1970 in North Dakota. I love ND, but often long for the sights and sounds of SC.
I am married to a farmer and we grow small grains, that is wheat, barly, oats, and sunflowers. Our son has joined the farm operations with his dad, uncle and nephew. The idea is for our son and nephew to take over more of the work so that my husband and his brother will have time to ease into retirement. I would love to say my husband is spending more time with me at the lake, but I can't keep my farmer away from the farm.
I am a late bloomer. After my children were born, I decided to attend college and graduated from Minot State University in Minot, ND with a B.S. and a double major in Elementary Education and Mental Retardation. I went on to complete a Master of Science Degree at Minot State University in Severe & Multihandicapped with a concentration in Infant/Toddler Development. In 2003, I completed a Ph.D. in Teaching & Learning with a concentration early childhood special education.
I have spent the last 30 years in education. I have worked at an adult learning center, teaching English as a second language to adult students, as a high school resource room teacher, teacher for studnets wiht severe and multi-handicaps, consultant for students with physical and other health impairments, a special education coordinator and as an instructor at Turtle Mountain Community College in Belcourt, ND. I taught first in early childhood and then in elementary education. Turtle Mountian Community College was the first tribal college in ND to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.
Working with young adults and older than average students at the tribal college has been my most rewarding job. Although, my degree is in early childhood and elementary education my jobs have been working with high school and adult students. This has been the right path for me to follow.
I retired May 21, 2009, but, I could return to teaching, part-time if the right job was available.
Right now, I am enoying my time at home with my husband and three kitties. I am learning to navigate emons, somewhat and I am making new eon friends.
