I loved scouting (Eagle 1953) and amateur radio (Amateur Extra 1958); I spent my summers hiking the Appalachian Trail and High Peaks of the Adirondacks. Lettered in Tennis (Won NNJIL/1956) and Soccer at Hackensack High School and U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis; served in the U.S. Navy until I lost left lung in '62. Resigned in '66 and accepted research physics position in the National Reconnaissance Office and also married the girl of my dreams. Two kids, one adopted kid later I lost the wife in '82 and became a single parent bringing up kids by myself until '88…when I married my current wife and her son. We are still very happily married. An avid skier (National Ranked / National Ski Patrol System) and Club-Level Tennis Player most of my life I also like amateur photographer and with a 35mm AE-1 and a few lenses managed to get a few pictures published. When my knees finally went due to the old injuries I switched to racquetball with my wife the soccer player. She’s as rough playing racquetball as she is at soccer; her nickname’s “The Bear”. Now after suffering two knee replacements I’m reduced to Table Tennis with a wonderful bunch of fanatics, and I still get a few pictures published with a digital D-40 and a few lenses. Life is still good but my balls are definitely getting smaller. We still like to dance the night away so we make dates for every other weekend or so. I’m a two-step’n junkie and she's Ms. Rock’n Roll. We have a small boat and cruise / gunkhole the Channel Islands National Maritime Park, even ship-wrecked on a deserted desert Island once, ride a Harley to meet friends for lunch in exotic drier places, and pick a National Park every year to snoop around. The kids: Lo got her BS Psychology/Rutgers and RN/Benton and married a BS ComputerScientist/Rutgers; one grandson and she works at AR Hospital. T and her horse got run over ’83 and is pseudo-vegetative state; she went to a better place in 2005. Big-A got his PsychTech/Valley and married a PsychTech/Valley; 2 granddaughters’n 1 grandson and they work at prison for criminally insane. Josh got his BS Forensic Science/UC Sacramento and married a lawyer; 2 granddaughters, he’s a criminalist for the DA. They all left home and never came back.So what now? Still taking courses in Geology and Astronomy trying to figure out how we got here. Now I get to philosophize some of that theoretical physics I engineered for 40 years. (updated January 2012)
