Well, there isn't really a whole lot to say, and besides it is hard to talk about yourself, but I'll try..

I was born in the wonderful state of Oklahoma, but my parents moved our family to the coast of Texas when I was around 4 years old and I have lived in Texas since then.  Mostly in the same town until my husband & I moved to Lake Charles, LA about 5 yrs. ago due to a job promotion.  What a change it was to live there and to have to leave all my family behind.  We now live in East Texas due to a job transfer and we love it here, and plan to retire here.

I have two wonderful sons that are married and have given me four blood grandchildren plus six grandchildren from their wives previous marriages.  My husband has three children and six grandchildren ( one of which died at the tender age of 9 months ). So all together we have 16 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren !  Whew !!!  And we will probably still have more grandchildren when our youngest gets married...

My mother-in-law is living with us, but it is a good thing.  My husband was adopted when he was around 8 months old.  He is now 53 years old, and a little over a year ago we found his biological mother ( see genealogy research helps in other ways ! ).  It was a wonderful meeting and she is now a major part of our family, as if she always was....

I retired early ( about 12 yrs. ago ), and have so much enjoyed doing the things I wanted to do and couldn't.  When I was working I worked in the field of retail management and property management.  I miss the customers that I met while working, but retirement is so much fun.  Especially if you find something to do with your time, and I do that with ease. !

 

Activities

I am very much into genealogy. With my genealogy research I have found numerous new cousins I never knew I had, and have discovered the history of my ancestors that have gone through so much to give us the freedom we have today. I also enjoy working outside planting trees, flowers, plants, and anything to add to the beauty of nature outside and to attract a beautiful butterfly, birds and other small creatures of our earth. I love to go to garage sales, antique shops, resale stores and anywhere I can pick up a good bargin on something I collect, which right now are glass paperweights, and small odd shaped boxes. Mostly anything tho' that is unique and out of the ordinary, but not weird.

Notebook is the one that comes to mind. I don't watch very many movies.

Non-fiction books, especially to do with my family history. For instance " Murder & Mayhem " a story of the War of Reconstruction in Texas..; "The Overmountain Men", " The Raven " ; and the best book of all time. " The Bible "

Where I live now in East Texas where the Pine trees grow tall, the weather is nearly perfect, and the people all smile and wave even tho' you are a stranger. Tulsa, Oklahoma... Lake Charles, LA where everyone is so friendly.
