I'm at a place in life that many things are changing. My youngest daughter has gone off the college. The "empty nest" is upon us. Our 2 daughters are 10 1/2 years apart. It has been like raising 2 "only child" ren. And now they aren't here to keep a constant eye on.

There was turning point in my life that I am dealing with -- I had a major accident Apr 2006. We live on a farm. I was doing chores on a 4-wheeler and flipped it on a country road. I was very, very lucky! A hairline fracture in the pelvis and traumatic brain injury. I don't remember anything from the day of the accident until about a month later. I was in the rehab center, they were teaching me to talk, walk, how to get dressed, and my food was mush. I missed the med flight, the ICU, and the hospital. 7 weeks after the accident the I was home again. So much was different, so many things I could not do on my own. Now it's 3 years later, things are a lot better.

But I guess I didn't learn enough lessons. About 2 months ago, I was not paying attention and felling in the ditch in front of our home and work my ankle (both bones and dislocated it). It required surgury to pin it and doctor said no weight-bearing for 8 weeks. It is almost up. All my plans for the summer, doing stuff on my own, raising a garden, etc. put on hold.  Now what will the future bring.

Activities

Raising meat goats, hair sheep and other farm stuff. Youngest daughter 3rd year in college so looking for empty nest stuff, Quixtar biz
