History
Places I've been
Gardiner, Maine (Hometown), Up and down the East Coast. A short stay in Florida (whew! I do not like the heat!). From one end of Maine to the other. Living mostly in the Central Maine area but yearning for the coast. :)
Canada once or twice and would love to go there again. New York City and if I could tolerate city living that is the city I would pick.

About me

Never spend time with people who don't respect you.
Maori proverb
Fame or integrity: which is more important?
Money or happiness: which is more valuable?
Success or failure: which is more destructive?
Mastering others is strength:
Mastering yourself is true power.
When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete,
everyone will respect you.
Lao Tzu
Our consciousness shapes our reality.
Our reality shapes our consciousness.

Books. I want to own all the books. The 600 I have is not enough to satisfy me. Painting, drawing, knit and crochet, working with clay. Anything that is a way to self expression is something I enjoy. I love the outdoors and would like to have a garden again.
Favorite Charities
Favorite Music
Bonnie Raitt, Jewel, Patty Loveless, Alison Krauss, Santana, Enigma, Aerosmith,
Oldman Coyote, Enya, Secret Garden, Melanie, Nickle Creek, Celtic particularly Clannad, Patrick Ball, StrangeFolk, still listen to Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Classical, Chant, Rock, Indie, Country, Folk (European) of anything I guess. Music has more to do with my mood than an actual preference for one genre over another.
Favorite TV Shows
Not many...Classic movies, News, documentaries, old Brit comedy (Fawlty Towers), PBS.
basically I think television rots your brain.
Favorite Movies
Practical Magic, 300, The Lake House, Seraphim Falls, LoTR, The Lady in the Water (or was it lake?)
Mists of Avalon, Pan's Labyrinth, The Craft, The Village, A Midwifes Tale, Harry Potter, 23, all the old standards by Stewart, Cagney, Grant, Wayne. I love the old movies. Mr. Blandings Build his Dream House, Arsenic and Old Lace, It's a Wonderful Life, The Quiet Man, I prefer action over smaltz, and I see no point in anything that utilizes chainsaws, guys with their heads full of pins or anything else that simply shows off the technological marvels of Hollyweird. I want a plot and I want costumes that knock my eyes out as the recent new offering of Marie Antoinette did. It is probably easier to say WHO I watch instead of what.Johnny Depp...anything he does...anything.
Favorite Books
Martian Chronicles, Dark Tower series, The Book of Atrix Wolfe, Women of the Dawn, Mythago Wood series, Dandelion Wine, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, E. Tolle, The Mitford Books, Spiral Dance, The 5th Sacred Thing, Tales of the Otori, Alice in Wonderland (victorian kid-lit in general), Dickens particularly Our Mutual Friend, The Bard, Come Spring, Karchers 'Total I Ching', The Dark is Rising sequence, Mists of Avalon et al, the Arthurian Cycle as a whole, Gaiman's 'Stardust' and 'American Gods', Harry Potter, Rachael Pollacks books on Tarot, Gregory MacGuire,
damn. I cannot pick there are toooooo many favorites. I read quite a bit of Jung and Von Franz and have an interest in the connection between depth psychology and mysticism.
