Places I've been

High School Name (City, State) I graduated from Glen Este HS, class of 1969, Mt. Carmel, OH. It was a newer school and the first class to go through all six grades beginning with the seventh in Jr. High School. Our rivals, Amelia, called us 'duck farmers' back then because we had a beautiful pond in front of the school with, you guessed it, ducks. Sometimes we would pull up only to find they had been painted blue, Amelia's colors. My boys graduated from GE also, but they weren't 'duck farmers'. GE & Amelia are still rivals. College Name I took a few enrichment courses through the years, but never in a school setting. I did eventually become a Certified CHUC ( a Health Unit Coordinator) for the Cincinnati Veteran's Administration and worked in both Cincinnati at the Medical Center and also Ft. Thomas, KY at the Nursing/Rehab home. I left due to health issues and haven't been able to go back to work ever since. I miss work too, or at least having something to do every day. I like routine....... Occupation(s) After the boys were pre-teens I went to work for the County's Chamber of Commerce as the Office Manager and met so many wonderful people and learned so much about business, politics and such and became friends with many. Our county also employs many lawyers and judges and such from GE's class of '69. After taking a Civil Service test at a friend's urging, I went to work for the Ciincinnati Veterans Hospital and eventually for the Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas, KY and loved every minute of it.

More about me

I am a wife, mother of 2 grown sons, and 3 terriffic grandchildren. I've worked in the Medical Field before having to leave because of health issues which only gives me more time for my boys and grandchildren. I live in southern Ohio, am married but seperated. Have my 'blue' days sometimes and then I'm kind of quiet, but usually I look at the rest of my life, which the longevity calendar says will be another 31 years, as a chance to do the things I haven't done yet and meet people I haven't met. I try to live my life to my new motto of "Faith, not Fear" and for the most part it's working well for me. With the exception of a few health setbacks I'm doing real well.  I've been with EONs now for some time and have made some terrific friends. I've subscribed to some blogs and found that most all boomers are very interesting and have something to add in life for everyone that will listen. I really feel like I'm in my element here and love just hanging out when I get the chance and read a lot of other groups' stories, etc.
