More about me

I am happily married my best friend for 38 years. We have 2 sons, 1 daugther-in-law, 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Love to go and watch the grandchildren participate in their sports. I'm a homebody at heart, like to work around the house and yard. Enjoy visiting with family, friends and researching family geneaology. I like to sew and crochet but don't have any projects started right now. I worked for almost 31 years for the Defense Department before retiring. Retirement came at the right time as I was able to take care of my elderly mother for 5 years after she was disabled by a stroke. I didn't have to take total care of her as my brother was able to share some of the responsibilities (when his schedule would allow him too). I had a health scare in 2001 when my doctor thought I needed a "stress test" which found I had two blocked arties, was in the hospital with in the week and had a double by-pass surgery.  Started a new job as cashier in the lawn and garden dept at Wal-Mart.  It has been pretty interesting experience so far definately not the sort of work I was use to, sitting at a desk.  

Activities

Watching grandchildren and their sports. I enjoy watching NASCAR, Sprint car racing and Pro football. I like going to vist museums and zoos, reading books, sewing, crocheting, collecting elephants and owls, gardening, and researching family genealogy.
