In the early 70's I lived in Honolulu on Oahu as well as Poipu Beach and Lihue on Kauai (the Garden Isle) in Hawaii for a couple of years and loved it! I visited Tokyo, and Kyoto, Japan and found the culture very interesting, but a bit obscure if you know what I mean :-). Bangkok, Thailand was wild! As frenetic and kinetic as one can imagine with the most wonderful pockets of traditional stillness hidden throughout. If you can't buy it there it can't be bought! Then came the traditional Island hops... Samoa, Fiji, the Spice Islands of Capt. Cook's final voyage, and finally Bali! Beautiful, beautiful Bali! If you come back from Bali the same person you were when you arrived then there is something desperately wrong with you!
Then I, being a bit more adventurous than most, departed the main shipping lanes and sampled some of the smaller, unknown South Pacific Islands where some few had never seen a white face before!
I was treated like a princess in many of those places! In others I dared not leave the safety of the boat! Now who knows? They are probably tourist traps with big name hotels and casinos!
Here on the mainland I've lived in many cities in CoCo County (as we natives call the "sideways Coast") as well as South Shore Lake Tahoe; Eyeful, Nevada; Reno, Nevada; St. Louis, Mo.; Leavenworth, Kansas; Oskaloosa, Kansas, and Memphis Tenn..
I must admit that of al the places I've lived in or visited, my favorites have all been West of the Rockies!

I'm the mother of two beautiful daughters (living with their other parent) and one stepdaughter (raised by us) as well as one foster son and by way of him and grand son. I'm also the wife of one of the most wonderful women in the world! Other than our genders we live the traditional all American, suburban, empty nest, married couple life style. She is the working spouse and I'm the stay at home mom (I'm 100% disabled and retired). We have four "flying fur burgers" (cats) who are about as different from each other and one's normal idea of what a cat should be like as one can imagine!
I've tried my hand at a number of professions as well as a variety of jobs. While working my way through college on the GI Bill I worked as a grill cook, sous chef and finally as a Security Supervisor/Industrial Private Investigator. After just failing law school I found myself in the field of professional political fundraiser for progressive non-profits and liberal political cadidates. I found it rather ironic that I was always one of the bigger money makers while being the most conservative of my coworkers! Just proves that civil and human rights issues are neither right nor left wing issues... just human issues.
