I grew up in Canton, Ohio, best known as the location of the Football Hall of Fame.  The best part of the Football Hall Fame was the celebration and activities surrounding it, the parades and festivals.

I was the oldest of 3, having 2 younger brothers.  I graduated from high school and married my h.s. sweetheart.  We had 2 sons together and then divorced.  I raised my sons as a single parent for 12 years. I must have done something right as both are fine young men.  My oldest son has 3 sons.  There are no girls in my immediate family!! My daughter-in-law and I can commisserate on this together, but nevertheless I am very proud of my 3 grandsons.

After being a single parent for 12 years I took a leap of faith and remarried and moved to Fayetteville, NC.  Fortunately, my husband took a position in Charlotte, NC and we have been here ever since. I have an autistic stepson who lives in a group home here in Charlotte.

My husband supported my efforts of working full-time and attending Queens University of Charlotte working towards my degree in accounting.  I graduated in May of 2004. 

I have been on staff with Pregancy Resource Center for the past 11 years as the Director of Finance.  This is a non-profit organization that assists young women in crisis pregnancies.  It is a Christian based organization and a place where we have seen many young women choose to make better decisions in their lives. Though I do not work in the trenches (peer counseling) I do get to hear all the wonderful endings and sad stories too.
