Area was settled primarily by Welsh, English, German and Italian immigrants. Lived in Bethlehem, PA, before moving, full time, to our future retirement home here in Winter Haven, FL, in 1996.

Hi, I'm half Southern Italian - American. My father's family came from Sulmona (Abruzza), with strong ties to Rome.  The dePamphilis (Pamphili)  family was well known there as well as the Doria, Landi and Borgesse cousins.  My mother was a Schaeffer, of German and Welsh (Jones) heritage. I am retired in Florida, with my wife of 49 years. We have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

I love to cook, mostly Italian, plus PA Dutch (German), Greek, Southern American and some Mexican and Asian dishes. I am also a "frustrated" writer of sorts...having written articles for local newpapers as well as recipes and reviews.

For many years I was an automobile dealer and retail strip mall owner as well as partnered with my wife in the retail clothing business. I also operated a hair salon.  I have a background in the newspaper advertising business; having been the Advertising Manager for the Bangor Daily News, (PA)  and a sales representative for several others. Prior to retirement, I was an automobile salesman here in Florida, retiring in 2002.
