Places I've been
When I left home in 1954, I went to Nyack, New York, where I attended college at what was then named Missionary Training Institute and is now Nyack College. I married while still in college, completed my education, receiving my B. S., and my husband and I moved to where our address was Normalville, PA. We were living near the small village of Indian Head. From there we moved to Skulton, a village in Laurel Mountain, pretty much the top of the mountain, a very windy place. After that we went to Warrendale, near Pittsburgh, and from there to Cobbs Corners and in 1974, we moved to Corry where I still live in the house we bought when we moved here. Our children all were graduated from the Corry School System.
Work
More about me

I am Nancy.

One of my hobbies is making Ukrainian Easter Eggs. This is done by using the wax resist technique, using a writing tool, bees wax, candle flame and chemical dyes.

I am an artist and I'm a member of our local Artists' Guild.  We have an art show every spring.  I usually enter some of my pictures in the show each spring.

This summer I am participating in the work at the Hospice Garden of Life just outside the entrance to our local hospital.  All summer long, I'll try to devote some time one day a week to deadheading, weeding, and watering there.  It's a beautiful memorial garden.  I also have flower beds of my own to take care of.

As with most families these days, my children aren't living here in my town. The closest is three hours away and furtherest is 12 hours away. Some families are much farther apart than this.  I'm grateful for e-mail and phone calls. Communication these days is so much better than it was when I was growing up.

Kane isn't very far away from where I live! A couple of times I got to ride the train from Kane to the Kinzua trestle bridge. Too bad that tornado took the bridge down. It was a beautiful place to visit. Well, it's still nice to visit, but the unique bridge is gone. NJ

Janenancy, I live in Kane, Pa.! Not far from you--maybe an hour and a half! I am from Calif. and moved here in 1981. Love it here. Pat

To me, Andre Norton was a storyteller supreme. She well earned her Hugo for Lifetime Achievement. My favorite storylines of hers were the Moonsinger pair(Moon of Three Rings, Exiles of the Stars) and the Zero Stone pair(The Zero Stone, Uncharted Stars). In many ways, my tales of the Sauk (and Rhiann especially) were inspired by her stories.
