Hi, I am a 39 year old ( nearly 40 - yuck) divorced female living in Australia. Mum of three beautiful children ( 1 x 16 year old boy & 2 x 14 year old girls ( twins)). I work very hard and run an employment company and look after 10 staff. I am very successul in what I do and love it every day.

Whilst raising my children, being the single income earner and trying to be everything to everyone, I also live with / look after my elderly 83 year old mother who has macular degeneration and arthritis ( and I think Behavioural Personality Disorder). It is hell to put it lightly! This is why I am have joined the eons group to speak to others who are in the same situation and try and find some solice somewhere.........

Just reading your initial profile letter and also another letter you wrote. I too know what it is like to be living with an older mother. My Mom has lived with us since we were married 33 yrs ago. She is now almost 101 but is fairly mentaly sharp. She was with us as we were raising our kids-- son now 32 and daughter now 29. Looking back to those years, I think we were blessed to have her with us. She was a definite positive influence in the kids lives. It is surely not so easy now. I am finding that I am the one with the anger and resentment. I have never been anything but her daughter. Absolutely all we can do is to live through it one moment at a time. Not even one DAY at a time! I truly know what you are experiencing. If I can be of help to you in any way you can email me. BTW--one more thing we have in common is the type of dog we like. We had a border collie for 12 yrs and she was a most delightful part of our family. If I should ever get another dog, it would be a border collie. They are SO intelligent. And wonderful with kids.
