More about me

I am 65 years old and am very happily retired. My wife and I have been madly in love with each other since 1961. For the past ten years, she has developed Alzheimer's, and had a stroke about four years ago. She is completely incapacitated and bedridden. I am her primary care giver as I would never place her into a nursing home.

What I do for her is not a job, but an act of love, which comes deeply from the heart. If things were the other way around, she would do the same for me.

Activities

My favorite pastime of all is cooking. I thank my wonderful wife every day for teaching me how to cook. My other hobbies include magic and flying planes. I just love to fly, but since I've had a defibrillator-pacemaker implanted in my chest, I've been grounded.

The Alzheimer's Association, American Diabetes Association, and the American Heart Association.

Favorite Music

I'm into jazz, the blues, old time rock 'n' roll, Broadway show tunes, and the standards, such as the great voices of singing like Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Johnny Hartman, et al. As for the blues, I enjoy people like Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Tinsley Ellis.

Favorite TV Shows

I watch mostly the PBS stations. As for these reality shows, I have no interest in them.

Favorite Movies

The Sound of Music, The Ten Commandments, West Side Story, The Birdcage.

Favorite Books

Of course, my favorite book is the one I had written.

Favorite People

Definitely Charlie Daniels. Why may you ask? He is my kind of people. Not afraid to speak his mind regardless of who likes it or not. I, like him am very outspoken, honest, truthful and frank. I don't intend to offend people, but if they do get offended, I simply say, "You chose to be offended." Him and I in the White House would have this country straightened out within the year.

Favorite Places

After traveling to many parts of the world, I would have to say my favorite place of all would be anywhere in the mountains. I go to the mountains quite a bit to clear away the cobwebs and recharge my batteries.

Favorite Animals

My favorite animal of all would have to be the penguin. Next is the giraffe. As a matter of fact, I love ALL animals. We get along so well together. I understand them, and they understand me.
