About
- Hometown
- I was born in Boston, but really feel I "grew up" in Oklahoma City and the two years I was lucky enough to live in Mexico City (yes in Old Mexico) It was a great experience living there and I've loved Mexico ever since.

I've been a cosmotologist after I sold haircare products in Los Angeles for awhile. Moved back to Omaha and did that while I got my degree at UNO. I ultimately became a police officer.

I am a retired cop of 15 years. I had to retire on a disability and probably wouldn't have had to had I a physician who knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, I trusted him. I won't do that again. It's interesting however that he is now disabled and can't work either and he is a type A personality. Life has a funny way of exacting balance.

I love Jeremiah Johnson, Out of Africa, Something to talk about (definitely not given the credit it deserves with Gena Rowlands and Robert Duvall) Sophie's Choice, yes I am a Meryl Streep fan, and there are others, I just can't think of them right now. It's weird going to the video store and realizing that you have seen most of the films you are looking at. It makes you wonder how much actual time you have spent watching them.

My favorite shows always get cancelled. I like the Sci-FI channel and am looking forward to watching the premiere of the new Battlestar Galatica tonight. It is nothing like the original one that was so campy. I have a quirky sense of humor, so anything I like, others usually don't. This season I began watching MADMEN on AMC. I have to say I really enjoy watching it, but it reminds me of how overtly sexist the world was back then. I remember men touching my hair and making comments to me, similar to the ones on the show. THAT part I am not so pleased to remember. I am glad that men have changed in that regard. Proud of them in fact.

Reading Pattie Boyd's autobiography, "Wonderful Tonight." It's about how she grew up, ended up married to George Harrison and then marrying Eric Clapton after he persued her relentlessly. Then, once he "had" her, wasn't quite that thrilled about it. Fascinating reading. A true "I was there" story. Not written by a researcher. Will be reading Clapton's auto-bio after I get done with Pattie's. Should be interesting to compare the two. But the amazing thing to me, is that this woman inspired at least two of the most beautiful songs ever written...Wonderful Tonight (Clapton) and Something (Harrison) I mean how many women can say THAT? I'd love to have had that effect on a man.

Black Hills in South Dakota. A more spiritual place I do not know.....went there years after one of my favorite movies, Dances with Wolves, was shot there. There was a real sense of peace there. And the people of South Dakota! WONDERFUL. I cannot say enough about how nice they were to us (and we had two dogs with us to boot.) I wrote to the Governor and he actually wrote back. Hawaii was beautiful. More than I expected, but I didn't expect much, so I wasn't disappointed, I was thrilled. Learned to love snorkeling as a result of that visit. Want to go back some day.

Yes, the Scissortail Flycatcher is the state bird of Oklahoma. And they just swarm out here in Kingfisher. I get to see them from mid-Spring to mid-Autumn. And then they have the good sense to fly to Costa Rica or somewhere in Central America.
Sorry to read that you became disabled (at least enough not to work).
Have you kept up with Barbara Gross? I haven't. Do you remember taking Freckles (the rat) to Shepherd Mall to walk around? We got thrown out!
