Hello, my name is  Hope. I live in NYC. I have three adult children.  For the most part, I love life and people.  I have had my fair share of hardships and am trying to see them as opportunities for growth. I had a hard 2009 and towards the end of the year discovered this group.  I found many friends here. You feel like people I know and respect.  We are all connected.

 I am slowly learning about myself and about my adult children.  Am changing my old outdated belief system about myself. I always felt shame and guilt.  I am learning that  I am worthy.  I am lovable. I am a good person.  And, I have that wish for all of us mothers of addicted adult children.  Happy New Year to us all.

Activities

I love reading. I like to travel. My husband was a professor and every summer we would pack up our home and our children and travel abroad. Have been to Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Israel and Mexico. I love meeting people from other countries, learning about their culture and language. I find we are all one. We are all connected.

Favorite Charities

My favorite Charity is the Bowery Mission. For the homeless. My son has been homeless and I have a very special affinity for that group. I help by making donations when ever I can. It will come back either to me or to one of my kids or to another Mother's child. GOTTA PASS IT ON.

Favorite Music

Oh so many. I love Arabic music, Mexican music, Pop, Oldies, the Blues and just in the last few years, country. But not that much yet. I like some classical too.

National Geographic, History Channel, CNN. 48 Hours, 20/20 HBO movies

Favorite Movies

So many.

Favorite Animals

I love to see deer, moose, wild turkeys [not in NYC] I love hawks. We have one right here in NYC. He flies around and the black crows bombard him and drive him away. He has come and perched on our neighbor's terrace.
