More about me: I am a 62 year old, newly widowed woman. I have 2 grown kids, we all live very near each other, and 1 granddaughter, 2 1/2, one of the loves of my life. I am very much a people person, and just love to travel on tours. Not a good driver, like to stop in pubs, could be there for days, so I take and escorted coach tour!!! Worked for an airline, running the VIP club for 18 years. Am on a leave of absense, not quite sure I even want to return to work !!
Not too good on these computers, and a little nervous about doing this. Lots more to say, guess I can add later, don't quite know where to stop !!
Activities: Travelling, boating, shopping, walking, people watching in hotel lobbies, long, leisurely dinners. Exploring new cities. As I'm looking at this, I think I'm rather uninteresting !!
Favorite Charities: American Cancer, Alzheimers Assoc., Red Cross MSPCA, Make A Wish, St. Judes
Favorite Music: I love all kinds of music, except this new rap stuff!! Love the oldies but goodies, (brings back such great memories) Irish Music, country western, piano instrumentals.
Favorite TV Shows: Brothers and Sisters, NCIS, Boston Legal, The Amazing Race.
Favorite Movies: Don't go too much to the movies, the last one I saw was The Devil Wears Prada. Told you!! They do have to be comedies. Love to laugh, enough sadness in this world.
Favorite Books: Don't read too much anymore. But the last one was don't laugh, "I Feel Bad About My Neck" by Nora Ephron.
Favorite Quotes: If you love something set it free, if it comes back to you it was yours, if it doesn't, it never was. (something like that)
Favorite People: My children, my sisters, my dear friends. Being around anyone that makes me happy and makes me laugh.
Favorite Places: Ireland, always feel so welcome there, Scotland, I feel my roots are there. Love Italy, my new love, sunsets on any beach, and being anywhere I can see a full moon shining on the ocean
Favorite Animals: Love dogs, I've always had one, we had to put my Australian Shepherd on a farm, he bit my granddaughter on the face, I'm sure she was teasing him, but I didn't feel I could trust him anymore. I loved that dog, he used to lick the tears off of my face. I will definitely get another dog

Okay, Lady, my name is Joe. Grandkids call me Papa Joe. I have not been in Ann's closet yet. I opened the door a couple of times but just closed it back. I thought it was only me but now I guess not. And, Yes, men cry too. My grand kids live in Manassas and they are both boys. I live here alone. Beleive me it gets really quite around here. No human voice at all for days at a time. I do turn on the radio and T.V. and stay on this "puter as much as I can. I do have several friends retired now and they keep in touch via e-mail. My old high school class has a reunion every year in June and we all keep in touch . We are getting slim though, wasn't but 53 to start with.

This is getting eerie. Reading your earlier comment I noticed you dated your husband since 5th grade, I did not do that but I did start dating my wife our senior year. We dated for 6 years. My son lives in Manassas Va. You know where that is? I get there to see him a couple times a year and he comes here a couple of times a year. I live 10 minutes south of Knoxville, Tn., a smaller place called Maryville, about 30 minutes to the Great Smokey Mountains. I love it here, it is near the mountains and I can be on my favorite beach in 7 hours pulling my R.V. I, also have been on several cruises and really enjoyed them. Last summer (2006) my wife and I went northwest for about six weeks and really enjoyed it. I have been in 41 of the states, 10 or 12 foreign countries but Tennessee and Kentucky are about the prettiest I have been in. We went to Texas last winter hoping to find a better place to "snow bird" Man, That did not work out. It was colder there than it was here. We got back home the 1st week of Feb. and then I had my 5th heart attack on the 26th. Found out she had cancer in March. 2007 was not a good year for us but 2008 is going to be. Really looking forward to it. Have you stayed in you home since your husband passed or have you moved ?? I am having a difficult time staying here.

Thanks for the reply. My wife died with cancer and only had it for a short time. Six months. I was the caregiver so I have been lost for a while now. It is getting better though. I have 2 children also one boy/man and a daughter. Two grandkids one which has Down. We all stay busy and are coping . My son lives eight hours from me, however my daughter live close by . We see each other almost daily. Thank God for Daughters...
