I have three passions in life: spiritual ascendance, income investing and raising my three kids, not necessarily in that order.  My life has been a crazy quilt of beginnings and endings, of crossroads, of seeming serendipitous events.  The pattern seems to have taken me from a very world-alienated soul to a person much better balanced - in the world but not of it.  Along the way, I've become better connected to my life's purpose - to clear out past wrongs and to master the art of having, making and investing money.  You have to understand...I quit a job with a pregnant wife and stopped graduate school in rural Massachusetts with no visible means of support - both things between the ages of 28 and 32.  I had absolutely no sense tdhat any harm could come to me.  Now, with some 28 years of meditation, I KNOW that a higher self is responsible for taking care of me but I would not dream of such rash behavior.  Have I really developed?  I expect to live another 30 years - to see my grandchildren (this one is my fourth marriage) and expect, like John Templeton, Marty Whitman and Richard Russel, to work as long as I possibly can, doing my passion - income investing.  I no longer think of saving the world - if I can raise and educate my bright little Brasilian kids I will be as happy as a pig in mud and fulfilled as as a mother suckling a baby.
