Places I've been

The farthest I had been away from home up to my honeymoon was New York City, 148 miles south of Albany. So the first big trip I EVER made was to Bermuda on our honeymoon in 1964. Since then we've been from Maine to Florida, Canada [Quebec & Ontario] as well as Pennsylvania and Ohio and Las Vegas. Living 45 minutes from the Mass and Vermont borders, we've been to New England frequently, especially Vermont, New Hampshire, Cape Cod and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. ;-))) My first trip to the west coast was to California to present at a Reading Conference. Hubby stayed home. I invited him but he said he couldn't come. His loss [as well as the conference in Hilton Head, SC.] After missing those two, he decided he would join me for a conference in Reno and he finally did get to see California too. ALASKA!!!!!! - gorgeous, breathtaking etc, etc, etc. Been there three times because my daughter lives there. France on my own for 21 days in 2004. This took the place of my Junior year in France. Got married instead, had 7 kids, etc, etc. We've been to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, near Charleston and Hilton Head several times since two of our kids were there for several years. We try to go to Florida for two weeks in the winter to get out of the frozen north. Where do I want to go! Do you have a year to read the list???

More about me

In August I will have been married 45 years to my college sweetheart. We have 7 children [6 girls] - yikes! and 10 grandchildren, including a new grandson born on Christmas Eve, 2008. 

 In my spare time, I'm a part-time professor of reading, a literacy coach and consultant.  I speak French fairly well and I love to quilt.  I find my inner peace in the Adirondack mountains of New York where I like to geocache with my kids.

Activities

I took off and flew a 2 seater plane, almost landed it but got a bit nervous 5 feet off the tarmac. I love quilting, am active in quilt guild, QuiltNorth.org, geo-caching, travel whenever I can, reading, supporting the kids when they need it, playing with my newest grand-baby, walking in the mountains, playing in the surf, going to Disney, sitting in a tube in the middle of an Adirondack lake reading.

History Channel, Star Trek, Gray's Anatomy, House, Monk, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Yankee Baseball, Jeopardy, Dancing with the Stars. This year my daughter got us hooked on Lost when she lent us the 1st 4 seasons.

Gone with the Wind, What Women Like, Pete's Dragon, The Black Shield of Falworth, Ivanhoe, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Friendly Persuasion, - don't go to the movies much
